Man shot to death in Chicago Heights

Chicago Heights police are questioning a man in connection with the shooting death of a 40-year-old man Tuesday morning.
Shortly before 11 a.m., police responded to a call of shots fired and found Robert Fortson lying in the parking lot outside a Mobil gas station, 431 W. 14th St., according to a news release from Sgt. Joseph Bruni, chief of detectives.
Fortson was taken to St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, where he was pronounced dead, the release said.
Police found a suspect and took him into custody for questioning, the release said.
The shooting remains under investigation, police said. No further information was immediately available.
