CHICAGO HEIGHTS
BATTERY: A Chicago Heights woman told police a man punched her in the face after she refused to accept a ride from him Jan. 1 at 16th Street and Stewart Avenue.
CAR THEFT: A 1993 Buick Century was stolen Jan. 2 in the 400 block of 17th Street.
THEFT: Someone on Jan. 2 stole $1,200 worth of goods that were ordered online from a doorstep in the 300 block of 17th Street.
TRESPASSING: Charles Boatman, 45, 1431 Otto Blvd., Chicago Heights, was charged with trespassing after causing a disturbance Jan. 2 at ZZ’s Liquors, 107 E. 14th St., and then refusing to leave the store, police said.
TANK TAKEN: Someone stole a 400-gallon oil tank Jan. 2 from a former gas station, 590 E. 14th St.. The theft was reported by a man who was watching the vacant business while it transfers owners.
HOME BURGLARY: A carpet shampoo machine, an iPod, jewelry, cash and a video game system were stolen between Jan. 2 and 6 from a home in the 400 block of Ashland Avenue.
DUI CHARGE: Michelle Apelquist-Dorman, 52, of River Forest, was charged with drunken driving, improper lane use and no insurance after a Jan. 3 stop at 14th and Aberdeen streets, police said.
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Fidencio Pena, 29, 157 E. 25th St., Chicago Heights, was charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property after a Jan. 4 incident at his home, police said.
CAR BURGLARY: A touch-screen radio faceplate was stolen Jan. 4 from a car in the first block of East Main Street.
PUPPYNAPPING: Eleven pit bull puppies were stolen Jan. 5 from an apartment in the 200 block of East 21st Street.
HOME BURGLARY: Three diamond rings were stolen Jan. 5 from a home in the 300 block of West 11th Place.
TRUCK THEFT: A semi-trailer truck was stolen Jan. 5 from Gerresheimer Glass, 480 E. 14th St.
TIRES SLASHED: Alexis Oliver, 18, 1908 Campbell Ave., Chicago Heights, was charged with criminal damage to a vehicle after slashing the tires on a car following an argument outside her home on Jan. 6, police said.
ROBBERY: A South Chicago Heights man told police he was hit in the head and robbed of his cellphone Jan. 6 at East End Avenue and Main Street by a man he knows from his parole class after he agreed to give the man a ride in his car.
