CHICAGO HEIGHTS

BAD CHECKS: Checks totalling $985 from a closed account were cashed between Feb. 4 and 8 at the Currency Exchange, 403 W. 14th St.

CAR BURGLARY: A GPS system was stolen out of a car Feb. 7 in the first block of West 14th Street.

VAN THEFT: A 1992 Chevrolet conversion van was stolen Feb. 8 in the first block of West 15th Street.

HOME BURGLARY: Two video game systems, a pair of headphones, clothing, games and DVDs were stolen Feb. 9 or 10 from a house in the 100 block of West 25th Street.

CAR BURGLARY: An unknown amount of coins were stolen Feb. 9 or 10 from a car in the 1500 block of Chicago Road.

BOGUS BILL: A counterfeit $20 bill was used to buy food Feb. 10 at White Castle, 701 W. 14th St.

PHONE HARASSMENT: William Olczyk, 20, 21 E. 21st St., Chicago Heights, was charged with telephone harassment after sending threatening text messages Feb. 10 to a woman in the 2400 block of Butler Avenue, police said.

TRESPASSING: John D. Williams, 44, 60 Apache St., Park Forest, was charged with criminal trespass after soliciting people for money Feb. 10 outside a restaurant in the 500 block of West 14th Street, police said.

CAR BURGLARY: A car’s passenger window was shattered and change and a six-pack of water bottles were stolen Feb. 11 in the 1300 block of McKinley Street.

HOME BURGLARY: A woman’s apartment door and door frame were damaged and her jewelry case was ransacked Feb. 11 during a burglary in the 100 block of Parkside Avenue.

HOME BURGLARY: Two televisions were stolen Feb. 11 from a house in the 600 block of Brookline Drive.

FUNNY MONEY: A man attempted to use a counterfeit $20 bill Feb. 11 at the Salvation Army, 150 N. Halsted St.

CAR THEFT: A customized 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was stolen Feb. 11 in the 1900 block of Division Street. The owner told police he let a woman, who said she was a part-time police officer in Hammond, take the car to an auto repair shop and she did not return.

PURLOINED PURSE: A woman’s purse was stolen out of a shopping cart Feb. 11 in the 500 block of West 14th Street.

PUBLIC INTOXICATION: Moses Jones Sr., 54, 1233 Park Ave., Chicago Heights, was charged with public intoxication after urinating on a building Feb. 11 in the 200 block of East 16th Street, police said.

MARIJUANA ARREST: Van. E. Perry, 22, 244 W. 16th St., Chicago Heights, was charged with possession of marijuana after police saw drug sale Feb. 11 at 16th Street and Euclid Avenue, police said.

THEFT: A customer stole a PIN pad Feb. 11 from Cricket, 151 W. Joe Orr Road.

BURGLARY: Copper wiring and copper cords were stolen from apartments, causing extensive damage, between October and Feb. 13 at a vacant apartment building in the 1500 block of Otto Boulevard.
