Oak Lawn police blotter

CAR THEFT: A car was stolen between March 26 and April 9 in the 5900 block of 87th Street.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: James T. Rogers, 30, 8743 Cicero Ave., Hometown, was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting arrest, possession of a stolen car and aggravated criminal damage to property after an April 1 domestic disturbance at the Metra station, 5115 W. Museum Drive, police said.

DUI ARREST: Donnell S. Smith, 34, of Chicago, was charged with drunken driving, no insurance and speeding April 5 after a stop at 95th Street and Normandy Avenue, police said.

DUI CASE: Debbie Mercado, 39, 10022 Pulaski Road, Oak Lawn, was charged with drunken driving, improper lane use, disobeying a traffic signal and no insurance after a stop April 7 at 91st Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

STOLEN WALLET: A wallet was stolen April 8 from the purse of a shopper at the Salvation Army store, 8732 Cicero Ave.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Eric George, 25, 10316 Mason Ave., Oak Lawn, was charged with driving on a suspended license and failure to secure a child in safety seat after an April 8 stop in the 5400 block of 95th Street, police said.

VAN BURGLARY: An air compressor and tools valued at approximately $2,000 were stolen April 9 from a van in the 9200 block of Tulley Avenue.

HOME BURGLARY: Four shotguns, nine boxes of shotgun shells, several boxes of handgun ammunition, silver and gold coins and a television were stolen April 9 from a house in the 9700 block of Brandt Avenue, police said.

POT POSSESSION: William Eppenstein, 32, 10019 Harnew Road West, Oak Lawn, was charged with possession of marijuana April 10 following a stop in the 5300 block of 95th Street, police said.

LICENSE SUSPENDED: Rebecca Patino, 37, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license after she was stopped April 10 at 91st Street and Pulaski Road, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Mauricio Nava, 38, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license April 10 after being stopped at 99th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

BURGLARY: A washer and dryer were stolen April 10 or 11 from a garage in the 4100 block of 99th Street.

HOME BURGLARY: Jewelry valued at $50,000, $19,000 in cash, passports and foreign currency were stolen April 11 from a house in the 4900 block of 107th Street.

LICENSE SUSPENDED: Mohammed Shaban, 38, of Justice, was charged with driving on a suspended license and damage to village property after he struck a light pole April 11 in the 5600 block of 89th Street, police said.

POT POSSESSION: Kevin Sodetz, 22, 11032 Kilbourn Ave., Oak Lawn, was charged with possession of marijuana April 11 after being stopped at 106th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Thomas Ullsmith, 36, of Lockport, was charged with driving on a suspended license after an April 12 stop at 103rd Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

DRUG ARREST: Mark V. Guzman, 30, 9428 W. 55th Ave., Oak Lawn, was charged with possession of a controlled substance after a stop April 12 at Southwest Highway and Major Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Teaqua Matsey, 32, of Zion, was charged with driving on suspended license after she was stopped April 13 at 97th Street and Pulaski Road, police said.

LICENSE SUSPENDED: Juan Gonzalez, 21, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license, no insurance and driving with open alcohol April 13 after a stop at 95th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Torrence T. Mathis, 23, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft after stealing merchandise April 13 from Home Depot, 4060 W. 95th St., police said.

BURGLARY: Hand tools, a children’s bicycle and golf clubs were stolen April 13 or 14 from a garage in the 9400 block of 55th Avenue.

DUI ALLEGED: Scott Cichon, 48, of Chicago, was charged with drunken driving, speeding, improper lane use, no insurance and transportation of open alcohol after an April 14 stop in the 5200 block of 111th Street, police said.
