SHOE THEFT: A Chicago Heights woman told police a woman stole her Air Jordan shoe off her left foot while she was waiting in her car April 5 in the 2200 block of Chicago Road. The thief then entered a nearby home and refused to open the door for police.
HOME BURGLARY: A pit bull, two televisions and a loaded handgun were stolen April 5 during a burglary of a home in the first block of West 14th Place.
BATTERY: Ronald Kading, 66, 9 E. 45th St., Chicago Heights, was charged with battery to a police officer, obstructing police, assault and resisting arrest after verbally threatening a woman and slamming a door on a police officer during an April 5 disturbance in the 2300 block of Chicago Road, police said.
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Zeferino Godinez, 19, 509 Emerald Ave., Chicago Heights, was charged with domestic battery after an April 5 altercation at his home, police said.
DUI CHARGE: Erica Williams, 27, 8 Olympic Village, was charged with drunken driving, driving without headlights, improper lane use and no insurance after an April 6 stop at Mackler and Highland drives, police said.
DUI ARREST: Barry Jackson, 35, of Chicago Heights, was charged with drunken driving, improper lane use and following too closely after being stopped April 7 at 14th and Division streets, police said.
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Derrick Varnado, 21, 4410 W. Drexel, Chicago, was charged with domestic battery after an April 8 incident in the 300 block of 14th Street, police said.
ASSAULT: Carlos Cochran, 41, 14214 Kedzie Ave., Blue Island, was charged with assault after threatening a store manager April 8 at Country Squire, 101 W. Joe Orr Road, when the manager ordered him to stop begging customers for money in the store’s parking lot, police said.
DUI CASE: Edith Garcia, 46, 16540 Emerald Ave., Harvey, was charged with drunken driving after she was stopped April 8 stop at 17th and Halsted streets, police said.
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Joseph Hernandez, 30, 249 Lynn Lane, Chicago Heights, was charged with domestic battery after a disturbance April 9 at his home, police said.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: A Chicago Heights woman told police a man wearing a ski mask demanded her purse at gunpoint while she was walking April 11 at Division Street and Gregory Drive. The woman refused to surrender the purse and the man fled after briefly tugging at her purse.
BURGLARY: A laptop computer was stolen April 11 from an office in the 1200 block of Center Avenue.
HOME BURGLARY: A television was stolen April 11 from a home in the 500 block of West 16th Street.
DUI ALLEGED: Jose Hernandez, 43, 181 E. 23rd St., Chicago Heights, was charged with drunken driving, driving on a suspended license, improper lane use and no insurance after an April 11 stop at Main Street and Euclid Avenue, police said.
