Frankfort, Mokena police blotter

FRANKFORT

PROPERTY DAMAGE: The exterior of a residence was damaged June 9 in the 23000 block of Firenze Drive.

BURGLARY: Items were stolen June 10 from a vacant property in the 22600 block of Stanford Drive.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Lauren M. Cohan, 25, 70 Hemlock St., Park Forest, was charged with driving on a suspended license, no insurance and having expired registration after a stop June 11 at LaGrange Road and Old Frankfort Way, police said.

THEFT: Parts were stolen June 11 from a vehicle in a driveway in the 21200 block of Plank Trail Drive.

VEHICLE BURGLARY: A locked vehicle was broken into June 13 in the 20100 block of LaGrange Road. Police did not specify what was stolen.

TRAILER THEFT: A trailer was stolen June 14 from a business parking lot in the 10800 block of Laraway Road.

VANDALISM: A vehicle was damaged June 16 in the 20100 block of Lilac Court.

POT POSSESSION: Denton Erickson, 18, 11810 Stephanie Lane, Mokena, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after being stopped June 17 at 116th Avenue and Sandalwood Lane, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: James P. Lewis, 34, 3917 W. 147th Place, Midlothian, was charged with driving on a suspended license and unlawful parking on roadway after a stop June 21 at U.S. 30 and 84th Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Gary Segarel, 28, 14321 Woodlawn, Dolton, was charged with driving on a suspended license and having expired registration after a June 22 stop at U.S. 30 and Harlem Avenue, police said.

MOKENA

BATTERY: Kirk Mauriello, 42, 12426 Chiszar Drive, Mokena, was charged with battery June 13 after beating a 44-year-old Woodridge man who was dropping off his children at the home Mauriello shares with the victim’s former wife, police said.

THEFT: A Mokena teenager and a Frankfort teenager were charged with theft and underage possession of tobacco after stealing 11 packs of cigarillos and five packs of cigarettes June 15 from Speedway, 11438 Stratford Road, police said. They said the boys were arrested when the owner of a nearby convenience store called police because the teens were urinating in his parking lot. The Mokena teen was also charged with possession of marijuana, according to police.

DRUGGED DRIVING: Donald Cernauskas, 27, 2951 Northwind Drive, New Lenox, was charged with drugged driving, possession of drug equipment, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving off the roadway, no insurance and possession of hypodermic needles after crashing his car into a ditch June 19 at Carpenter and Division, police said.

DUI ARREST: Jerome Schutzenhofer, 28, 12345 W. Warren Drive, Mokena, was charged with drunken driving, resisting police and no insurance after a June 19 stop in the 11100 block of Bryant Road, police said.

CREDIT FRAUD: Dominka Tyler, 18, 7634 S. Wood St., Chicago, was charged with using a counterfeit credit card and obstructing justice after she tried to get a cash advance with the phony card June 21 at Chase Bank, 11205 West U.S. 30, police said. They said further investigation showed Tyler’s fraudulent card was used at a drug store in Frankfort and for purchases in Tennessee and Maine. A passenger in Tyler’s car, Reshea Pittman, 23, 14505 Avalon, Dolton, was arrested after police discovered she was wanted on a Lansing warrant, police said.
