HOME BURGLARY: A Chicago Heights man told police that he returned June 11 to his deceased parents’ house in the 200 block of Country Club Drive after having been incarcerated for five months and found that the house had been ransacked and the burglars stole four diamond rings, a couch, a dining set, artwork, an Italian stamp collection and various other valuables and furniture.
THEFT: An iPod was stolen June 17 after the owner left it charging at a desk in the 400 block of West 14th Street.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Louis Ramos, 35, 254 E. 21st St., Chicago Heights, was charged with domestic assault after a June 17 incident at his home, police said.
CAR BURGLARY: A DVD and radio player, a wallet and $300 cash were stolen June 17 or 18 from a car in the 300 block of Boston.
POWER CHARGE: ComEd filed a complaint with Chicago Heights police June 18, alleging that Spanky’s Grill, 190 S. Halsted St., owes it $20,259 for electricity, police said. They said ComEd told police that it has cut power to the restaurant six times, but the owner keeps restoring the electricity and using it illegally and has also removed the electric meter from the building.
