BURGLARY: About $19,000 worth of equipment was stolen between Aug. 22 and Sept. 12 from a construction trailer at the undeveloped Misty Pine subdivision at 183rd Street and Ridgeland Avenue. Approximately 100 pieces of scaffolding, braces and masonry equipment was taken.
DEBIT FRAUD: A Tinley Park man’s debit card disappeared after he used it to pay a bar tab Aug. 30 at J.W. Hollsteins, 17358 Oak Park Ave. It was used the next day to buy $116 worth of groceries in New Lenox, police said.
LAPTOPS STOLEN: Employees of Best Buy, 7330 191st St., told police that four men stole six laptop computers Sept. 3 and fled in a rental car.
VAN THEFT: A work van was stolen Sept. 5 outside Edgewater Walk condominiums, 5950 Lakebluff Drive. Police later located the van in Harvey with damage to the door locks and the victim’s tools and personal belongings missing.
MOTORCYCLE THEFT: A motorcycle was stolen Sept. 7 from outside a home in the 6800 block of West Crown Lane.
SHATTERED WINDOW: A landscaping brick was used to shatter the rear window of a car between Sept. 7 and 10 in the 16800 block of Harlem Avenue.
VANDALISM: Someone used a landscaping brick to smash the rear window of a car Sept. 14 or 15 in the 19300 block of Westfield Avenue.
FUNNY MONEY: A manager at PetSmart, 7340 191st St., told police two men each purchased a $6 item minutes apart on Sept. 15 and paid with counterfeit $100 bills. Suspicious employees examined the bills and determined they were phony, although both passed a test with a marking pen, police said.
THEFT: A television was stolen Sept. 15 during a party at a home on Corinth Court.
