What other elected offices have you sought? What year? None

Have you ever been arrested or charged with a crime? If so, for what? What was the disposition? No

Do you have any criminal convictions on your record? If so, for what? What was your sentence? No

Political (elected or significant appointment) experience: Mayor, Village of Homer Glen Former Republican Precinct Committeeman

In your view, what are the two most important issues facing your constituents? How would you address those issues?

Balanced budgets and fiscal responsibility. When re-elected, I will work to continue our track record of success in those two areas. I have been the last line of defense against wasteful spending and delivered a balanced budget to Homer Glen. That has allowed me to pledge that there will be no municipal property tax as long as I’m mayor.

Please explain something significant you would like to accomplish within the next two years if you are elected to the office to which you aspire.

We will champion taxpayer transparency by putting our Village check register online for public viewing. This has been something I’ve proposed, and something we will institute shortly. I am proud of the government-lite, fiscally responsible administration I’ve run, and we have nothing to hide from the taxpayers. They deserve nothing less than transparency of how their money is being spent.

Please explain how you believe the office you’re seeking can help in creating local jobs.

I’ve already demonstrated that my administration can bring in new jobs. I personally negotiated the annexation of the Meijer property and Goodings Grove shopping center — a move that brought new jobs into Homer Glen and more than $700,000 in new tax revenue for our village. We are also prioritizing our resources on targeted investments in infrastructure for our new Village, so that new employers can locate here and prosper. Finally, by having no municipal property tax, we foster a competitive environment where employers can locate and provide their employees with an affordable place to live with a high quality of life.

Would you make any changes to the budget of the governing unit to which you are seeking elected office? If so, what?

We will continue to keep a balanced budget by fighting reckless and wasteful spending, and bringing in new businesses to Homer Glen — and we will put our check register online for all to see.

Are there any other issues you want to bring to the public’s attention? If so, what?

While many surrounding communities are laying off police and firefighters, we have a balanced budget and a bright future. A lot of politicians talk about fiscal responsibility -- by my administration in Homer Glen has put it into action. We’ve provided balanced budgets, brought in new jobs, fought wasteful spending and kept our pledge of “NO” municipal property tax.
