In your view, what are the two most important issues facing your constituents?
Opening a grocery store and lowering real estate taxes.
How would you address those issues?
Educate the citizens of University Park that is a FOOD DESERT. A FOOD DESERT is a concentrated area short on access to fresh meat and produce. I will seek well qualified store owners to develop a viable plan to bring University Park its first grocery store in eight years.
Design and formulate an economic plan to get the many companies in University Park Industrial complex to pay their fair share of taxes, to offset the tax burden placed on the home owners of University Park.
Please explain something significant you would like to accomplish within the next two years if you are elected to the office to which you aspire.
Paramount, establish a one stop grocery complex that will offer a wide range of services and goods to take University Park off the FOOD DESERT status.
Please explain how you believe the office you’re seeking can help in creating local jobs.
I will hold the businesses in University Park’s Industrial complex to a strict policy that will include a minimum number of jobs for the many residents seeking employment.
Do you believe the current way Illinois pays for education is working? If so, why? If not, why not? What would you change?
I do believe the way Illinois pays for education is working, but the state of Illinois is experiencing a serious budget deficit.
As a result, Illinois is slow to pay its educational bills, and many teaching positions and educational programs were cut to meet the huge monetary shortfalls.
Would you make any changes to the budget of the governing unit to which you are seeking elected office?
Yes, negotiate more attractive terms for future TIFs {Tax Increment Financing} to bring more resources sooner to the village.
Moreover, hold companies accountable for TIFs requirements.
Are there any other issues you want to bring to the public’s attention?
Yes, lowering taxes and better management of our tax dollars will be accomplished by prioritizing the Village’s services and activities, consistent with the community’s wants and needs. Additionally, our {The WE CARE TEAM} plan for community progress starts with greatly increasing and enhancing communications to the community so that all community members are aware of programs, available for children and adults.
Lastly, a safer community starts with a need for assisting the law enforcement community by developing and integrating available community resources, that support positive programs directed toward our Village’s young adult.
