What other elected offices have you sought? What year? I was elected as Worth Twp. Trustee and served from 1989 – 2007. I currently serve as a Trustee for the Village of Chicago Ridge since my election in 2007.
Have you ever been arrested or charged with a crime? If so, for what? What was the disposition? No.
Do you have any criminal convictions on your record? If so, for what? What was your sentence? No.
Political (elected or significant appointment) experience:
18 years, Worth Township Trustee
4 years, Civil Rights Commission
4 years, Village of Chicago Ridge Trustee
In your view, what are the two most important issues facing your constituents? How would you address those issues?
The Village of Chicago Ridge must curb runaway pension obligations by ending pension “spikes” and requiring greater contributions by recipients. The Village must continue to replace aging infrastructure within the restraints of the budget.
Please explain something significant you would like to accomplish within the next two years if you are elected to the office to which you aspire.
I will seek to implement an LED street light replacement program for the Village.
Please explain how you believe the office you’re seeking can help in creating local jobs.
Delivering quality services for the lowest possible cost helps reduce the burden on taxpayers and allows more revenue for economic development.
Do you believe the current way Illinois pays for education is working? If so, why? If not, why not? What would you change?
Education funding would not fall under the purview of the Village of Chicago Ridge Board of Trustees.
Would you make any changes to the budget of the governing unit to which you are seeking elected office? If so, what?
All too often, government gets caught up in cutting costs by a certain percentage. Instead, I would seek to implement a zero-based budget strategy to identify the true costs of services delivered to Village residents and force every department to justify each expense.
Are there any other issues you want to bring to the public’s attention? If so, what?
The structural deficits and costs inherent in governmental budgets.
