Political (elected or significant appointment) experience: Member of the Village of Orland Park Economic Development Advisory Board from 1994-2002

In your view, what are the two most important issues facing your constituents? How would you address those issues?

1. Continue conservative fiscal policy of restricting expenditures to available revenues

2. Work with the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Cook County Highway Department to add additional lanes on LaGrange Road, 143rd Street and Wolf Road

Please explain something significant you would like to accomplish within the next two years if you are elected to the office to which you aspire.

Complete the Facilities Utilization Plan to improve efficiency and reduce expenses, Improve the village website to make it more user friendly and interactive

Please explain how you believe the office you’re seeking can help in creating local jobs. If the Village Board keeps village taxes reasonable while maintaining efficient governmental services, new business will continue to move to Orland Park and existing businesses will expand

Do you believe the current way Illinois pays for education is working? If so, why? If not, why not? What would you change?

It works but it is not equitable. The legislature should revamp the tax structur to reduce the amount of real estate tax that is used for education and increase the amount of income tax that is used for education.

Would you make any changes to the budget of the governing unit to which you are seeking elected office? If so, what?

No. I am presently chair of the Village of Orland Park Finance Committee. The village pursues a conservative fiscal policy of maintaining appropriate reserves and balancing our budget each year without borrowing money for operating expenditures

Are there any other issues you want to bring to the public’s attention? If so, what? N/A
