In your view, what are the two most important issues facing your constituents and how would you address them?
Obviously, the two most important issuss facing all Americans right now are the economy and unemployment. The Orland Park Public Library offers numerous resources to aid residents with job searches including access to computers and online resources. The most important thing I can do if reelected as a Trustee would be to continue to see the Library operate in an efficient and cost effective manner, keeping taxes as low as possible while maintaining the high level of service the Library offers the resident of Orland Park.
Please explain something significant you would like to accomplish within the next two years if you are elected.
I would like to see the Orland Park Public Library complete its energy efficiency audit and implement the recommendations from it. These efficiencies could help lower the cost of operating the Library significantly.
Please explain how you believe the office you’re seeking can help in creating local jobs.
Having a resource like the Orland Park Public Library is just another key element in the quality of life equation that can attract people and businesses to the area. The Library works closely with local businesses offering them access to all its resources to help their business thrive.
Do you believe the current way Illinois pays for education is working? This is not an issue that pertains to the office of Library Board Trustee
Would you make any changes to the budget of the governing unit to which you are seeing elected office? If so, what?
As an Orland Park Library Board Trustee I am proud that the Library operates with a balanced budget and has sound reserves to insure the highest level of service to the community. I would continue to insure that this continues.
Are there any other issues you want to bring to the public”s attention? If so, what?
Government censorship is an issue that most people rarely consider. As a veteran I believe in and have defended the rights all citizens enjoy to freedom of speech and information. We must be vigilant at all times against any inroads to inhibit or limit those freedoms.
