Background information
I am Sharon Archie-Davenport, a 6 year resident in Sauk Village and a Candidate for Community Consolidated Schools District 168 Board Member. I am a dedicated wife (Law) and mother, with three children (Lawton, Laela, and Logan) in the district’s school system.
Currently, as a Minister and Chef, I am the owner of Real Life Applications “Feeding The Body And Spirit”. I have my own schedule which allows me to avail myself to the education and future investment of my children and other young people in the community. I also have several years of experience in public service and leadership. Before running for the CCS District 168 Board, I have been a participating parent at Wagoner school and the Blossoms Early Childhood program. I personally volunteer my time to various teachers, parents in need of assistance with their children, in addition to being a member of the parent advisory board. I was once a member of the CEDA parent committee.
I strongly believe in parent/teacher relationships and continuing of education outside of the classroom. My experience as Director of the children’s choir, Sunday school teacher, registered parent in girl and boy scouts, and substitute daycare instructor has truly allowed me to understand my position in the lives of children. I refer to myself as an advocate for those who cannot speak on an adult level and has a stronger passion and vision to see the children of our future excel in all areas of their lives knowing that they are our future who will lead the way someday.
My decision to become a District 168 School Board Member is due to my passion for the young and believing parents/adults should be able to expose the children to as much education as possible that they find the gifts they have within and to build self-esteem. As a School Board member, I plan to do all that I can to find programs, cast votes, express wisdom, and provide the board with the concerns of the parents in the district. In doing so, I believe this will avail the district to further progress and helps to ensure the children of our community are receiving the best possible educational experience they can. As a District 168 School Board Member, I promise to bring leadership, dedication, words of wisdom, love, support, and direction for and to the children of our community.
