In your view, what are the two most important issues facing your constituents? How would you address those issues? economy and city services. We are addressing the budget with great fiscal responsibility and yet providing all city services to our residents.

Please explain something significant you would like to accomplish within the next two years if you are elected to the office to which you aspire. Our terms are 4 year terms and I will continue with open communication, fiscal responsibility, seriously consider each piece of legislation and always attempt to be aware of employee and resident concerns. I have always felt that a 3-5 year plan would work quite well with yearly adjustments to the information.

Please explain how you believe the office you’re seeking can help in creating local jobs. Unfortunately our business base is limited but I would hope that our businesses would see if some of our residents would be a “good fit” for their company.

Do you believe the current way Illinois pays for education is working? If so, why? If not, why not? What would you change? Since I am a retired teacher and a former school board member I feel that the formula must be adjusted. The state and federal government must alleviate the pressure from the property owner and the government must do more than just require unfunded mandates to the schools. Our children are our future and we must educate them.

g Once again, I would have a 3-5 year plan including manpower, equipment etc. and adjust the information each year.

Are there any other issues you want to bring to the public’s attention? If so, what? Even though we live in a very busy world it would be great if we all had time to be aware of more information concerning our government, schools, libraries etc. We should also shop locally and support our businesses. If we shop locally it will help the local business and in return we will receive more retail tax dollars.
