Boeing is getting into trouble with its Dreamliner because of battery failure. I want to know who manufactured these batteries.
Thank you to the Friends of the Tinley Park Public Library. On a recent Sunday afternoon, a Friends-sponsored concert by Peter Oprisko, a south suburban favorite, was held. Peter was accompanied by a piano, bass and drums. He sang Academy Award songs from the 1930s to 1960s. The audience was asked to join in a chorus or two of songs from bygone days. Everyone left the performance with a song in their hearts and a smile on their face. Great job, Friends of the Tinley Park Public Library.

No wonder the common people can’t find any jobs. People like Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart are hiring family friends.
Now that former Chicago Ald. Sandi Jackson is going to be investigated by the feds, I just wonder if she and former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. are thinking about decorating their new home next to former Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Maybe they could decorate his prison cell also while they are at it. Good for them. They are all just a bunch of crooks.

To the female Speak Out commenter who recently wanted to compare public high schools to Mother McAuley High School: Seriously? I’m public-taught and I’m sure you are old enough to know better. Although I have nothing against McAuley, I am sure that success is based mostly on the individual and their accomplishments, not the school they come from. There are many successful people that come from public schools, not just Catholic or private schools. If one of your grandchildren did not turn out the way you expected, I doubt it had anything to do with the school they went to.
There are parents being held hostage. They have gangbangers staying with them and are afraid and don’t know what to do. Nine times out of 10, they are not going to tell anyone and will suffer in silence.

If you want a gauge on how uninformed and politically motivated Gov. Pat Quinn and the rest of the politicians are, then just look at the illegal immigrant driver’s license law they recently passed. Those politicians are totally out for nothing but votes. I think this is ridiculous, not enforceable and totally stupid.
About robins in January: I was happy to read that other people have had robins in their yards this winter. I also thought they went south for the winter, but a group of eight robins were splashing away in my heated birdbath on Jan. 16th and 21st. This year there have also been a greater number of cardinals and blue jays chowing down on my feeders, which are filled with a variety of seeds.

Why is it that the Democratic candidates have very cool people supporting them like musicians Bruce Springsteen, Katy Perry, and Dave Matthews? On the flip side, Republican candidates usually have people like musicians Kid Rock, Meat Loaf, and Ted Nugent supporting them. Does that tell you something?
Really? I cannot believe that in this day and age there are people who equate being gay with being a pervert. I don’t have statistics, but I’d be willing to bet that most child abusers and pedophiles are not gay. It’s sad and scary that there are so many ignorant, misinformed people in the world.
Illinois politicians make Bernie Madoff, who operated a Ponzi scheme, look like a schoolboy. We keep getting ripped off and we keep voting the same shirts back into office. This mess that the state of Illinois is in did not happen overnight. Looking at what has happened and what is happening in this state is like watching the TV program “American Greed: Scams, Scoundrels and Scandals.”

When you see someone shopping with the Link card, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s theirs. When I go shopping, I also shop for my neighbor or my relative who cannot get out to shop. I use their Link card for their groceries and I pay cash for mine.
Many of the people who live in the suburbs have every right to comment about Chicago. We have lived there for years and years. Why do you think we live in the suburbs now?
It’s a shame when you see a 65-year-old man who worked 35 years in a factory who can’t afford to live off his pension and savings because of outrageous taxes and the real estate flop due to our so-called leaders. It is so disgusting when these other people can retire with these $100,000 pensions for doing nothing. Please wake up and vote these bums out. Politics is not a lifelong career. It was only meant to be for a few years.

I am a gun owner and I believe in gun ownership, but I don’t understand why we can’t write a constitutional amendment or write a new law that gives us protection against gun nuts with assault rifles.
I am not a firefighter and I don’t play one on television, but I think they deserve every dime of their pay. When they are not fighting fires while on duty they wash and wax the vehicles, clean and maintain their equipment and gear, and do the same for the firehouse inside and out. The last time I checked, there are no custodians there. Of course, they take turns cooking. They do it all. When did firefighters become the bad guys?
