Graffiti can be as simple as a name someone spray-painted illegally while other graffiti has been hailed as art by some and even displayed in galleries. | File photo

I think most of all graffiti is not gang; it is tagger. The police do a great job catching taggers, but victims don’t go to court. If you see graffiti in Chicago, call 311 or your ward office. If you see tagging, call 911.
I encourage parents, friends and neighbors to come out to cheer and encourage the high school athletes during their baseball, softball, tennis and other events. You will witness the talent and the determination of your community high school student-athletes. You will see the sport event for free and you will enjoy the break in your daily activity. The athletes will enjoy having you cheer for them. You can check on your local high school team’s schedule online or call the school athletic department for more information. You are in for a fun day.
My sincere condolences to the constituents of the 2nd Congressional District. I think all that’s changed is the face from former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. to Robin Kelly. I think the political power machine ran that election and stole that election, and the citizens did nothing but think they were voting for something new. Wake up! I believe you’ve been had.
The reason so many innocent people were supposedly put on death row was due to the prosecutors not getting all of their facts before they took the case to court. We need a death penalty and we need prosecutors to process all of the evidence that they have before they recommend the death penalty. So many recent cases scream for the death penalty such as Drew Peterson, who was convicted of killing his third wife, Kathleen Savio, and Christopher Vaughn, who was convicted of killing his wife, Kimberly, and his three children.

What happened in Boston with the bombing of the marathon should prove to the Republicans that we cannot afford to have less FBI agents and law enforcement. We need revenue from them to make sure we continue to meet our obligation. If this isn’t a wake-up call then I don’t know what it is. They need to stop protecting the rich and do the right thing.
I agree that the Daley and Madigan families have destroyed Illinois, but the voters in Illinois are so dumb that they keep voting for these individuals. They just voted in Edward Moody, Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan’s guy, in Worth Township. I heard not a lot of people came out to vote. If they didn’t have the right to vote then they would all be crying. It’s a sad thing.
Someone suggested a ban on knives after the Texas rampage at Lone Star College. There is already a ban in Illinois on knives that are 3 inches or longer.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago kicked off a push for immigration reform. They are telling parishioners to send postcards to Congress urging immigration reform. I’m a Catholic. Stay out of politics, Catholic Church. Let us, the voters, decide on politics and immigration.

The Department of Justice and the Environmental Protection Agency should be dumped into Lake Michigan with the next coal ash dump from the SS Badger. To trade a precious resource like Lake Michigan is a travesty of justice. The people who are responsible for the recent agreement should be thrown overboard into Lake Michigan. End the dumping now, not two years from now.
No one, I repeat, no one is saying that some people don’t need help such as the Link card. It is those abusing the system who are the problem. I’m referring to the ones who are selling the Link card, using multiples and getting cash back to buy liquor and cigarettes. Those people sit around and do nothing for these Link cards. This is what people are upset about and that’s what the concern is. Save it for those who need it.
Bombs should be illegal. There should be checks to buy this stuff. Oh wait, they are illegal. A lot of good the illegality has done, and the same with guns. Until we do something about bad people, nothing will change. There are many ways to kill. Lock the crazies up before they kill people.
Former Cook County Commissioner William Beavers was replaced by Stanley Moore, a person with a questionable past about a $3,000 ethics fine. They couldn’t do any better than this? Or are they scraping the bottom of the barrel?
I’m looking for a place to donate unused medical supplies. Can anyone help with that?
The weather is nice. I don’t see why coaches don’t have the kids outside rather than running the hallways.
Even on Election Day Crestwood mayoral candidate Lou Presta wouldn’t answer columnist Phil Kadner’s questions. What did you know and when did you know about our water problem? Maybe the feds should investigate you and all of the trustees who were in office during the tainted water scandal. What about our former village services director Frank Gassmere? What does he know?
What good would it do to fire governmental employees who are behind on their taxes? How would they pay them? It is not illegal for anyone to be behind on their taxes, as long as they have worked out a plan for paying those taxes with the Internal Revenue Service or state taxing body and stick to it.
Where is the outraged cry from Christian leaders around the world for the persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt?
