Crestwood faces more than 100 lawsuits filed by 250 current and former residents who claim they developed cancer, tumors, immune system disorders and other serious health problems from drinking the water for so many years. | File photo

I think the judge should sentence all Crestwood officials found guilty in the tainted water tragedy to jail time and community service on oncology floors. They should help the people fighting to stay alive.
I want to thank the woman at the Circle K Shell on Bell Road for her generosity on a Thursday when I stopped to get gasoline. While in line, she asked me if I was there to buy gas. I said, “Yes.” She said, “I’ll pay for it.” I was stunned. I asked her if there was something I could do for her. She said, “Just pass it on.” I want to thank her for restoring my faith in people. If everyone did one thing for another person, this world would be a better place.

Doesn’t anyone else find it strange that it took three days of intense scrutiny to identify the Boston bombers, but it seemed like they had all the names, photos and biographies of the 9/11 perpetrators in less than two days?

Bump & Grind Auto Body in Homer Glen is the best auto repair shop around. I just had a car repaired there after an accident. These people are fabulous. Lee and Kevin are great. There is quality of the repairs for a fair price. Their promise to you is your vehicle will look like it never happened, and this is true.

To the commenter from Evergreen Park: The key word here is to enforce the 55 mph speed limit as posted wherever it’s at. This will save lives.
Immigration reform? Why not call it what it is: lawbreaker amnesty, for political power.

It’s nice of Traci and Scott Heim from Tinley Park to adopt children from other countries. Along with celebrities, remember that the United States has many children looking to be adopted.
I want to thank Patrick Rehkamp, of the Better Government Association, for his article titled “Clout on campus: Nepotism 101 at South Suburban College.” This article should be required reading for all of the Link card police who worry about Link card fraud.

Some downtown Chicago workers decided to picket for double minimum wage payments because they think they are special. Get off of your high horse. I worked a minimum wage job. When I couldn’t make ends meet with that job then I got a second job. Get get a second job like everybody else. Stop expecting benefits that you don’t deserve.
I’ve heard of water treatment and I know we’re already doing it. I think it’s a lot cheaper for all of us if businesses were forced to keep it clean before it’s treated. Here’s some great logic. Let’s turn Lake Michigan into a toxic dump and then just treat the water later. Do you have any idea what it takes to remove coal ash from water?
I’d like to know what the Speak Out commenter thinks the grandma was supposed to do when the boy threw a temper tantrum in a store. Slug him and have people be stunned because she was abusing a child? Most mothers and grandmothers know the only thing that can be done when a child is throwing a tantrum is to finish your business quickly and get out. No definite age was mentioned. If the boy was a toddler or preschooler chances are he was overtired and had no idea what he was saying, only that those words make adults angry.
A Speak Out contributor’s granddaughter was born with a teratoma and operated on by doctors when she was 3 days old. To save her life, they cut her vocal cord. The doctors said she wouldn’t talk, but at 18 months her vocal cords started working. This grandparent claims they began working through praying to God and Italian saint Padre Pio. This person claims “we have proof” “prayer is very strong.” There is no “proof.” Because a cure was preceded by prayer doesn’t mean the cure was caused by prayer. It simply means one thing (the cure) followed another thing (prayer).

I think the chemicals in some disinfectants do cause cancer. Beware of all the chemicals that are put into our foods. Just because it is on our shelves does not mean that it does not cause cancer. Please read about all the genetically modified organisms that our food companies are using. GMOs are banned in other countries. Why not in the United States? I’m thankful that there are companies that are doing good for consumers.
Just because someone doesn’t “see” God, does that mean he doesn’t exist? I’m a bigot for stating historical fact of why blacks and whites were separated for the exact reasons why gays cannot marry:God and nature? You’d be a fool to deny what’s written in American history. America’s laws are not ruled by biblical evidence. You can’t deny a human being freedom to love in America. Love always wins out. Think of all the love that will be brought to humanity when you finally learn to coexist and educate yourself.
Talk about greed. The garment industry in Bangladesh is a $20 billion-a-year business. Supposedly they can only make money by paying wages of around 38 Euros a month. That’s about $50 a month. Yes, slavery still exists and many times is supported by the rich around the world. Disgusting!
With all the comments about the 8-year-old, how do all the people responding actually know if the boy is left alone? Just because you don’t see anyone doesn’t mean that he’s alone unless you monitor the activities of the home 24/7.
