Forum: Poor turnout easily explained

Updated: September 28, 2012 6:12AM

It’s a mystery to me why everyone was surprised at the poor turnout at the Susan G. Komen Chicago Walk for the Cure.

Most of the people who walk or donate to the walk assume that their donations are being spent to find a cure for breast cancer. Discovering that a sizeable amount of our money is being given to Planned Parenthood for abortions is a real shock.

The irony is that many studies have shown a link between aborting a first child and breast cancer. This data has been found all over the world and is openly discussed in other nations where political correctness and pro-choice pressure is less intense than in the United States.

If Komen and other breast cancer awareness groups really cared for women they would give us all the information available so we can make informed decisions, instead of covering up information that would cast Planned Parenthood in an unfavorable light.
