Forum: Indefensible intervention

Updated: October 10, 2013 6:12AM

U.S. presidents cannot resist asserting their “right” to kill indiscriminately in the name of a “humanitarian” response to an international crisis. We will deploy cruise missiles that will slaughter women and children in Syria and that will be broadcast globally, resulting in further hatred for America.

Why are we getting involved in a war where both sides are not our allies? To constantly trumpet the atrocity of the use of poisonous gas as the reason is to hypocritically ignore that American forces have used chemical warfare for years, most recently in Fallujah during the Iraq War.

We also gave our complicit approval to Saddam Hussein’s gassing of the Kurds, only to spin that incident around for propaganda purposes as an excuse to attack Iraq.

History is repeating itself again for we are The United States of Amnesia when it comes to war and its immorality.
