Did anyone notice the scary similarity between Drew Peterson with the missing wife, Stacy, and Scott Peterson with his missing wife, Laci? All of those names are eerily similar.

Thank you to Calumet City Plumbing. I called with a nasty problem including an overflowing toilet and a bathtub filling with waste. They came quickly. It was done and cleaned within 30 minutes. Thank you.

Wal-Mart’s commercials comparing their prices with Jewel do not surprise me. Some of Jewel’s prices are a little high. But how do Wal-Mart’s prices compare to Kmart or some other stores in their own league? How do they stack up then?

To M in Oak Lawn who is upset about the suspect accused of robbing the bank in his community recently: Why don’t you direct your attention toward our elected officials who are robbing all of Illinois. Have you been following the antics of Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan lately?

Roger from Oak Lawn

The Fresh Moves mobile food market is a nice idea. I hope it works and helps people who really need the help. I worry that it will be just a matter of time before the bus is robbed. The West Side of Chicago where they plan to operate is a war zone. I wish the people selling the produce God’s protection. They are going to need it.

I just got my telephone bill. The next time I go to the toilet, I will use that bill as toilet paper. The people are being taxed to death. My bill had federal tax, municipal tax, Illinois tax, federal universal fee and more. I blame all the politicians for this disgraceful predicament. It will not be long before we are paying for the very air we breathe.

U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. stated he was glad the Crete detention center will not be built because it would have forever changed Crete’s small-town feel. What does he think his airport project is going to do to Crete, Monee, Beecher and Peotone? For the people who are for the third airport: Rent a room up by O’Hare International Airport and sit on the balcony for a few hours. See how you like it because that is how it will be if this third airport gets built. Politicians are trying to do it to us again.

Pat from Monee

It’s ironic that Gov. Pat Quinn would sign a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act here in Illinois. It seems like the Illinois government is a racketeer-influenced and corrupt organization.

Bridgeview is having trouble paying for Toyota Park. Let the trustees who voted for it pay for the use of the facility. Don’t make the taxpayers pay for it.

If any information has been released from the White House that has cost our military to lose men, then that is a treasonous act. It should be dealt with accordingly.

To Chicago Cubs fans: You are never going to improve that team until you stop going to the ballpark. When you fill that park with 40,000 people every day, the owners will never need to improve their product. They have nothing but a bunch of overpaid and overrated ballplayers on that team. Something must be done. I suggest a boycott of that ballpark. Wake up, Cub fans!

It seems like the Republicans don’t like to use the phrases “the rich” and “the wealthy” anymore. What they have substituted is the phrase “the job creators.” While there might be a minority of those who actually do create jobs, the majority are simply wealth creators. They are creators of wealth for themselves and their investors.

When you live close to the train tracks you get used to the noise and whistles. My advice to the complainers is to not buy a home near the tracks. Trains make noise. Duh! I live near the train, and I don’t mind the whistle.

Judy from Tinley Park

President Obama needs to take a lesson from President Clinton and learn to compromise to get things accomplished. Obama always blames Republicans, but it takes two to compromise. Obama had a Democrat majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. He could have really made a difference with unemployment, the debt and the economy. He is the leader. He needs to show leadership. Real leaders work with others to get things done. I don’t think he has had any experience in this department. And now it’s too late.

Palos Heights

Seeing the article about new Orland Fire Protection District Chief Ken Brucki’s home being foreclosed on made me very sad. Being disabled and getting behind in bills is not a crime. God bless you, Chief Brucki.

A lot of Americans need to stay off the Internet and quit reading into all the rumors.

The status of our current federal and state governments all comes down to term limits. Legislators forget that they were elected for public service, not for self-interest. Many of those in federal and state office have been there for decades. This needs to stop.

Working for the private sector in this economy is a challenge. You have to take on more responsibility especially if you are a salary employee. Teachers should think twice before striking. Sure they are asking to be paid more, but who isn’t? The union wants a 29 percent pay increase in two years. This is simply ridiculous.

The worst thing to ever happen to God is religion.
