No, Jenny McCarthy, don’t come to Chicago even if you did go through all the guys who would have you in Los Angeles. There must be somewhere else you could go. We really don’t want you here.
Regarding the comment on garden fairies: Why are you against using imagination? Do you go to the mall and tell kids Santa doesn’t exist? Do you read fictional books and get mad they’re not real? My mom may look like the Tooth Fairy, but when I was a kid, finding that prize under my pillow was awesome. Believing that dragonflies, butterflies or magical creatures can be garden fairies is a good thing. It’s magical, full of imagination and allows people not to be cynical and negative. As an adult it can be a harsh world. Just leave the fairies alone.
To Joe from Mount Greenwood: Yes, it is probably true some parents aren’t feeding their children and keeping the money for themselves. But would you punish the children because their parents don’t provide them with a meal? The child without enough sustenance will not be able to concentrate at school. Do you believe if the Link card user isn’t providing a meal for their child that they will pay for a school meal? School meals are sometimes the only meal a child receives for the day. Link card abuse is a big subject. Punishing the child shouldn’t be the answer.

It’s nefarious. To all the morons who back in the 1990s and 2000s defended professional athletes accused of performance-enhancing drugs: How do you like it now? The old excuses like contemporary athletes are bigger, stronger and faster thus causing eye-popping performance, have been exposed for what it is — nonsense. The real morons are the current batch of professional cheaters who persist in their nefarious ways, even though their actions are closely watched.
Cemetery vandalism has been around for too many years. It is usually caused by punks who think they are engaging in an act of bravado and cannot think of anything productive to do. In reality, this is the most blatantly cowardly act any person can engage in, attacking graves of souls who cannot defend their own memories. It becomes far more serious when repeated attacks on the same site could be a hate crime such as what happened to the gravestone of Hassan M. Abdallah in Evergreen Cemetery.
RW from Oak Forest
To the presidential candidates: Dear President Obama and the honorable Mitt Romney: I don’t care where President Obama was born. I don’t care how much Mr. Romney paid in taxes. I do want to know what your plans are to put members of my family back to work and how much I will be paying for Medicare in three years. Can we focus on the issues please?
Bob from Homewood
Regarding pension reform: All of this talk about pension reform is nothing more than idle chatter. Before there can be any form of pension reform there has to be politician reform.
This is in response to the comment that Chicago White Sox fans have no class. I think Chicago cubs fans need to look in the mirror.
To the person who recently spoke out about gun control: If we had gun control, the criminals won’t be armed. The key word in gun control is “control.”
This is a question about Christians vs. atheists. If there is no God, where did we get the standard of goodness by which we judge evil as evil?
If these governing bodies and school districts had not been so generous with their salaries, raises and pensions, then we wouldn’t have to lay off all of these teachers. We have laid off thousands of teachers in Illinois because we are paying some superintendents more than $300,000 per year. If everybody took a pay cut we could keep a lot of these teachers working and hire these new kids out of college who have teaching degrees. But they have overspent and nobody is willing to take a cut.
The Republican platform takes on far-right principles. They are antigay, anti-choice, pro-voter identification and believe in no exception given to abortion for incest or rape. This is not your grandfather’s Republicans. These are your extreme Republicans.
Oak Lawn has just moved forward with a forensic audit. That’s a good suggestion. Country Club Hills should move forward with a forensic audit and find out where all the money has gone.
Drew Peterson’s lawyers seem to think his trial is all a joke. Judge Edward Burmila seems determined to free Peterson. I can’t take much more of this. Peterson is a smirking and decency-defying person who I believe has obviously gotten rid of at least two wives, Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson. He deserves to be behind bars forever.
I’ve heard that in some school districts children are being taught that experimenting sexually with someone of the same sex is normal. No, it’s not. Why are we allowing people to promote their agenda? You would not teach your child that it is normal to eat poison because some other kid did it, yet you allow your child to be taught that you should be experimenting sexually because other kids are gay or lesbian. We should not be trying to tell heterosexual children that they should be experimenting with homosexuality. This is ridiculous.
Thank goodness for friends. Sometimes they know just what to say or do to brighten a truly dark day. Make sure to return the favor by reaching out to your friends.
