Summit Learning Center teacher Kevin Clough and Delta Learning Center dean Sam Bacino came up with quite the collaboration. The pigeon project sounded like a fun learning experience.

Thanks to the village of Park Forest for finally making parents accountable for their kids’ actions. They are making the parents pay for damages children do during criminal actions. It’s about time.

The Pinocchio syndrome has voters questioning what is truth, what is a fabrication and what is hearsay. Hopefully, the best candidates will win in the Nov. 6 election. Vote as if your life depended on it because it does. Let’s throw voter apathy out the window and concentrate on who we feel best represents America and its citizens.

Illinois could make millions by giving tickets to all the drivers who drive like crazy on the Stevenson Expressway, especially drivers of taxicabs and trucks. I find that they drive like crazy even through the construction zone around the Central Avenue overpass near Stickney. It seems likely that someone is going to get hurt.

If the government and politicians did their jobs properly there would be plenty of money to go around for the people. It would be the way it should be instead of the way it is. There is too much greed and egotism.

I believe no one is proabortion, not even those women who have had abortions. It’s an agonizing decision for anyone, but those who are vehemently antiabortion are also antichoice. That’s the problem. No woman wants to have one. But if necessary, no woman wants to be told what they can and cannot do with their own bodies.

The Chicago City Council should be furious about Ald. Sandi Jackson living in Washington, D.C. This better not be another Rahm Emanuel-style residency con. If you and your husband both share a house with your children in Washington, D.C., and your children go to a school in Washington, D.C., then you live in Washington, D.C. Sandi Jackson is not serving her country. She should be serving her state of Illinois.

Working is for idiots. All you have to do is go to your friendly family doctor and have him swear you’re disabled and you can get free money from the government. Take a look at the SouthtownStar article about Chicago police officer Thomas P. Nash who has been collecting disability for all these years. If you want to stop this then put some kind of responsibility on the doctor. I guarantee you they wouldn’t automatically say the person was disabled if they were held responsible.

The shortage in Social Security, which likely will not be available to us in our 30s because the Social Security fund is set to run out in about 20 years, is being blamed on politicians “borrowing” from the fund and not on what parents have done. Who put those politicians in office? It was my parents and your parents. The politicians are our parents. My parents and your parents will be collecting Social Security just fine for the next 20 years. But by the time I’m retirement age there will be nothing left called Social Security. So, again, thanks, parents.

To the Evergreen Park School District 124 teachers who were picketing: I know you work hard, but so do many others. I manage two businesses, work seven days a week, 12 months a year. I have not seen a bonus or raise since 2006. I pay over $2,000 a month for medical benefits alone. To parents who were picketing: Take your child to a museum, try a science experiment, read a book, play math games or go downtown to see beautiful Chicago. While there, you can show them the homeless on the streets so they see what unemployment leads to.

I can’t understand why election after election we keep putting the same politicians into office. These are politicians we know are crooks and have not done anything to help us. Especially in Cook County, it seems like we keep putting the same crooked politicians back into office. We should wake up in Cook County and in Illinois.

I was appalled but not surprised at the tweets actress Eva Longoria sent out about the presidential and vice presidential debates. They were vulgar and extremely unladylike especially the one that referred to U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan and Vice President Joe Biden. What really upset me is when she mentioned that minorities should be ashamed of themselves if they don’t vote for the president. I, for one, am sick of Longoria and her spoiled minions who I think are all members of the 1 percent who will socialize with President Obama and do anything to avoid taxes.

Orland Park

There is nothing wrong with our current Illinois Constitution. I think it cost hundreds of thousands of billable lawyer hours to “fix” our constitution. There is nothing wrong with it.

First it was the Catholic Church and now it’s the Boy Scouts. These are two sanctimonious institutions that are against gay rights. What a bunch of hypocrites who are preying on young boys!

Do you really think politicians care about unemployment? They don’t have to worry about it. They take care of their own. Take a look at Secretary of State Jesse White and Cook County Assessor Joe Berrios. They hire by clout. They don’t worry about unemployment. They just worry about themselves.

The Democrats say Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s plan will not work because the math is all wrong. Maybe they should go back to school.
