Watching these talking heads making excuses for losing the election is funnier than watching “Late Show with David Letterman.” The lies and distortions they come up with are really way out.

Soon our traditional Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends will be a thing of the past, in favor of camping overnight or leaving the dinner table early to get the best price on an electronic item.

Palos Heights

I knew it. Someone commented about Hostess Brands and unions. Some of you are on the wrong side of this argument. Workers are not responsible for Hostess going bankrupt. I think the chief executive officer is ultimately responsible for the success of the company. Don’t you think the CEO and top executives should be held accountable for the performance of this company? Don’t you think the workers deserve a living wage? The fact of the matter is union jobs pay better than nonunion jobs. Low wages are killing off the middle class. Support workers not greed.

Lately I’m seeing a lot of people with tattoos. To me, even if it’s just one, I just can’t help thinking that it makes them look dirty. And I figure, if they look dirty, then they probably stink too.

Unions were great back in the early 1900s to help straighten companies out. Since then they have deteriorated into nothing but a bunch of money-hungry crybabies. The union people should realize seven-eighths of a pie is better than no pie at all. Public servants should not be able to strike at all. Unions now seem to have disintegrated into a lobbying group.

When is President Obama going to go on the TV shows “Dancing with the Stars” and “Wheel Of Fortune”? The people would really love that.

A lot of people like to complain about people in line with food stamps or cards to get food free. They are so upset about the money being spent. The amount being spent on welfare is nowhere near the amount of money spent on welfare for the rich. For example, the Ricketts family wants Chicago to come up with $160 million to help renovate Wrigley Field. Chicago helped renovate Soldier Field for the Chicago Bears. Chicago put up money for the new Comiskey Park aka U.S. Cellular Field for the Chicago White Sox. That is all welfare for the rich.

I don’t consider Social Security an entitlement because it’s money that they took from me and supposedly put in savings for me. Social Security was called a forced savings plan by some when they started it. It was not called an entitlement.

Oh please! So now a lawsuit is blaming the train for hitting a woman crossing the tracks. Her parents say someone is to blame. The answer is yes, and that person is their daughter. Maybe she should have looked before crossing the tracks. This is unreal. My husband and daughter grew up near a railroad yard. If the gates, etc., are working, you don’t get hit by a train. Have respect for trains. In a fight between you and a train, the train will always win. Did this woman have her earbuds in?

Every time I pick up the newspaper I see where minorities have been suing some company or government entity because of discrimination. They are winning huge settlements. Companies like Yellow Transportation Inc. and Wal-Mart and even Chicago due to the firefighters entrance exam, are getting sued for millions. Bank of America is being sued by the government because minorities were not treated fairly with mortgages. Even minority farmers sued. Apparently all white people were treated 100 percent fairly. Who wants to open up a business anymore? This is ridiculous how they just write checks to settle these lawsuits.

Former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife, Chicago Ald. Sandi Jackson, are a disgrace to the political system and to all elected officials. I mostly blame their constituents for continuing to vote them into office. Jackson Jr. is being investigated for misappropriating contributions for his own gain, not to mention spending $40,000 for a watch for a female friend. Let’s put the dots together and paint the picture. He had no business being a congressman and Sandi Jackson has no business being an alderman.

The Cook County Board could save some money by eliminating a few of the Cook County commissioners and letting them cut some of their expense accounts.

I heard they passed an advisory referendum about requiring term limits for all elected village officials in Tinley Park. I wish somebody had a petition for the same thing in Orland Park for term limits.

The Republicans will never win again because they are outnumbered by people who are getting a free ride for never working and living on public aid and food stamps for several generations. I think there are more people getting freebies than there are people working. We are never going to get the Republicans in office again because the Democrats give everybody a free ride. We encourage 14-year-olds to have babies and grandmas can’t keep up with five kids younger than 5 years old. The mothers are out partying and making more babies and no one knows who the fathers are.

When votes are tallied and then broken down by categories like white women, black men, under 50, over 65 or whatever, how is that determined? No place on the ballot asked that. If you don’t vote at a polling place where a judge can see you and mark it down, then how is it known? I’m just curious.
