Only one episode of Kevin Bacon’s Fox TV show “The Following” has aired, but I’m already hooked. It’s creepy, suspenseful and something I want to follow each week.

Thanks to the person who turned in a wad of $300 to those running Dominick’s. It’s nice to know there are honest people out there.

President Obama swore on two Bibles to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America. When is he going to start upholding the Constitution? Will it be this term or never?

I watched the TV show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” for the first time. I am still trying to figure out what the heck that was.

I’m just wondering who paid for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s attendance at the Inaugural Gala in Washington, D.C. If it was the taxpayers’ money then why wasn’t I invited?

I think the trouble with subsidized housing is the tenants who don’t work. I believe the crime rate at these places is high.

Regarding the 143rd Street and LaGrange Road eyesore: Am I the only one that feels like the new Main Street Triangle makes the intersection look like an expressway interchange? The massive building that is being built directly on 143rd Street in place of Randy’s Market is a huge concrete eyesore. How can the village claim that the corner is going to be beautiful? No amount of trees or landscaping can cover the high concrete that has been erected. It’s terrible to look at.

A commenter said the Democrats are opposed to spending cuts. I don’t think that’s true. They’re opposed to slashing programs important to the poor, elderly and middle class. I think the Republicans want to balance our budget by decimating Medicare, Medicaid and other programs that help the working class. I think most Democrats believe in preserving these programs by making smart changes to produce savings, cutting the defense budget, increasing revenues by eliminating tax loopholes, etc. If we do not use a balanced approach of spending cuts and increased revenues to reduce our deficit, the middle class will suffer more.

If we use gun ban logic, we fail to learn from the prohibition of alcohol and drugs — namely an increase in crime, huge legal and law enforcement costs, full prisons, virtually no oversight and regulation, and lost tax revenue to the black market that prohibition helps create. Using the logic du jour to ban guns for killing kids, it’s also cars, adult medications, drawstrings on blinds, etc., that should be banned. Does that seem reasonable, or should we be rational and keep kids and those things away from each other? Is it not adults that put children in harm’s way?

We’ve now allowed women to participate in combat. It might make the Betty Friedan and Gloria Steinem feminists jump for joy, but it demonstrates another step in the crumbling of America’s foundation. If we have to place our women in combat situations, we have reneged on a commitment to preserving human life. We can put women in harm’s way. They will be maimed and killed. The media will trumpet their heroism, but what does it prove other than war has become more ugly? When the women are needed to preserve the republic, we must have our backs to the wall.

So another innocent teen is slain after a basketball game. Boo hoo! Let’s have a candlelight vigil. Let’s bemoan this death. Let’s do nothing because that’s what we always do. Where are the school boards to protect these young people? If Simeon Career Academy and Morgan Park High School cannot behave themselves then why are they allowed to play? Why are they allowed to be in a basketball league? I don’t care if they are No. 1 or No. 10,000. They don’t deserve the privilege of playing. This kind of thing goes on and on and nothing is done.

I read an article that stated the Illinois House approved legislation allowing undocumented immigrants to obtain temporary driver’s licenses. If they are undocumented then how are they going to get the driver’s licenses? If they are undocumented then how are they going to get insurance? What am I missing? Were the details of this bill also undocumented? I believe Gov. Pat Quinn’s qualifications to lead Illinois are undocumented.

If you read “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” star Ice-T’s autobiography, you would find out what a criminal he was. He was affiliated with a gang and committed many big-dollar crimes and got away with it. He was also a disgusting rapper and had a song called “Cop Killer” with his band Body Count. I agree that his character acting is very good, but he bullied his way through society. He is another lowlife that is now a multimillionaire. Where he really belongs is in prison.

Tinley Park plans to reduce property taxes on the prospective Golden Corral restaurant for 10 years. We think they should do the same for taxpaying Tinley Park residents who have high property taxes also.

We voted for President Obama and his well-stated agenda. That’s how he knows what we want. That’s not arrogance. It’s just common sense.

I think people are driving like crazy on Interstate 55 especially near the construction zone at Central Avenue. Please shame the government into doing something about it. We could collect millions of dollars in tickets.
