Since former Chicago Bull Dennis Rodman seems to like North Korea and its leader, Kim Jong Un, so much, why doesn’t Rodman move there?
I didn’t understand why first lady Michelle Obama was presenting an award on the Oscars. The connection between Hollywood and the White House is now truly apparent. I can’t imagine former first ladies Laura Bush or Nancy Reagan participating in the Oscars. I think it’s in poor taste for the first lady of the United States to do that.
Let’s put this Link squabble to rest. There are many people and many generations of people abusing the system. You would think anyone with an honest agenda and a little common sense could fix it. Honesty and common sense are the key. I stopped complaining when I realized no one is listening except Speak Out, but there are people who need these benefits. To those who complain and think everyone has the ability to actually get off their backsides and work: Instead of showing your ignorance, pick a poor family a little south of you and buy them a pizza.

To union members: You want to talk the talk so walk the walk. Do not buy any merchandise from the big-box stores since I find that most of the goods there are made in China.
If we could go back to the scene of the 2008 Lane Bryant murders in Tinley Park, the police found gun shell casings but all they could determine was the caliber of the gun that was used. If the shell casings had a micro-laser engraving imprint put on the bullets, then the police would be able to find out who purchased the ammunition. The crime could be solved, the perpetrator would be punished and the victim’s families could have justice served. There is nothing unreasonable about that.

To the Tom Skilling basher: Four days of Chicago weather forecasts said 3 to 8 inches of snow and more north and less south. On the day of, there were 2 inches in Crete, 3.5 inches at Midway Airport, 4.5 inches at O’Hare International Airport and 10 inches in Winnetka. His prediction of 7 inches official at O’Hare occurred 10 miles to 12 miles north. If you understood the structure and dynamics of a winter storm, you would see his prediction was spot-on. Tom is great. If you don’t like it, change your channel from WGN-TV (Channel 9).
Congress delayed renewal of the Violence Against Women Act partly because of questions about jurisdiction of tribal courts on American Indian land when it came to domestic violence. If we can figure out how to hunt down enemies in foreign countries then it shouldn’t be rocket science to go on land within the United States occupied by the Indians.
Some black leaders are complaining about Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy. They say he could be fired because of all the murders. Maybe these leaders need to step up and say it’s the people in the neighborhoods’ responsibility. They don’t have family values anymore. There are no fathers around, and they are shooting anybody they want. No one is coming forward with any information. They know who is doing all of this killing.
Willie from Country Club Hills
Regarding bicycle lanes: Now we have many towns and cities marking bicycle lanes on the streets. That’s a good thing. I pay for highway maintenance with my tax dollars, license dollars, etc. I have laws to obey while I drive. It’s time to tax and license the bicyclists for they now have some official right to use the streets. Let’s be fair and hit them up like all of us auto drivers have to pay. While we’re at it, let’s start to ticket bicyclists for breaking the law, too, i.e., running stoplights and stop signs. The law’s the law — equally.

What’s with this term “homophobic”? You mean to say that if you don’t agree with the homosexual lifestyle, you are, thus, homophobic? Well, mostly I don’t agree with the Democrats. Am I Democrat-phobic? I don’t agree with Chicago Cubs fans. Am I Cubs-phobic? I don’t agree that you can’t put ketchup on a hot dog. Am I anti-ketchup-on-a-hot dog-phobic? Hmm, I guess I have a lot of attitude adjustment needed. I just hope I’m not attitude adjustment-phobic.
Our government makes me sick. To save money, instead of hurting American citizens, we could save billions by cutting aid to foreign countries. We could also close our borders so we don’t have to pay millions to foreigners, legal and illegal, in the United States. Also, we should implement a rule limiting welfare recipients to one child per mother and father. Want to have more than one kid while you’re on welfare? Too bad! You get money, food, housing, medical, etc., for one. That’s it.
Many people are responding to their deliverypeople. Our deliveryperson must have been on some type of sports team. The distance that he has to throw the newspaper is about 50 feet, which always land at our doorstep. What an arm and what a guy with very accurate aim. He never misses a delivery day. Thank you.

I am fed up with all the excuses concerning former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife, former Chicago Ald. Sandi Jackson. They both got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. Let them deal with the repercussions and jail time. Case closed. The only question is what happened to the $40,000 Rolex watch he gave to his girlfriend. Does she still have it?
