One idea to keep things fair when it comes to voter districts is to have a computer generate the boundaries. | AP file photo illustration

Voter districts should be generated by computer to be equal in size with no gerrymandering allowed. If we did it by computer then I think the average person would be properly represented.
I would like to congratulate Reavis High School in Burbank for winning first and second place in the Illinois High School Association state finals for interpretation in drama. Great job, everyone!

No one wants a loser. When golfer Tiger Woods was down on his luck, his sponsors turned their backs on him. Now he is on top again. One of his sponsors stated that it’s all about winning.

Marriage is an institution in society that is of divine origin. It is not to be changed and altered by man at his pleasure. It is not merely a civil but a sacred affair in which God is concerned. No matter what our society may legislate, the law of God is clear. I think a marriage is not a godly marriage if it is a same-sex union.
Osama bin Laden’s son-in-law Sulaiman Abu Ghaith was captured in Jordan. That’s interesting. Isn’t Jordan the country we are giving money to? Didn’t the United States help Jordan during the Syrian crisis? Jordan is supposedly our allies. Isn’t it strange how our enemies seem to be in our friendly countries but they don’t know about it?

Why do people with chronic illnesses feel that they must depend on the kindness and charity of others? There was a little girl on the front page of the SouthtownStar recently. If the family and others would band together with us to strengthen Obamacare then she wouldn’t have to depend on the kindness and charity of others. What if people get tired of donating? What is going to happen to people like that? Are they just going to die? We need to strengthen Obamacare. Make health care the human right that it is in every other country except this one.

If Communist Joseph Stalin was still alive he would be green with envy watching what the Republican Party is pulling all over the United States.
If Illinois is broke how can we afford $14 billion for Gov. Pat Quinn’s Illinois Jobs Now!’s transportation improvements? The answer is to selectively defraud a state pensioner who worked for 36 years to earn contracted-for benefits supposedly guaranteed by the Illinois Constitution. Illinois always has money to tear up and pour concrete. Taxpayer money should go to unemployed veterans and citizens, not subcontractors who incentivize illegal immigration and wreak huge profits. I expect the Civic Federation, Illinois Policy Institute and other good government watchdogs to make sure the state pays what it owes before it spends any more money.
With all of these school closings the Chicago Board of Education has stated they are going to make a safe passage for these children. Who do they think they are kidding? Do they think the people are stupid? There is no safe passage. You see this killing going on because we don’t have enough police? These people don’t care about these children. If they did they would hire more police and stop closing the schools.
Maybe someone should ask Tinley Park mayoral candidate Steve Eberhardt how well he is doing on his child support that he has failed to pay. How will he run our town?
I’d like to thank Alsip Mayor Patrick E. Kitching for thinking about the seniors. Thank you for the two-year rent freeze at the Heritage apartment complexes.
Aren’t there any honest and legitimate politicians in the United States? Every day all I read about is this guy or this woman going to prison. This time it was Cook County Commissioner William Beavers, who called himself “the hog with the big nuts.” I guess now they will call him the de-nutted hog. Please don’t even think about bringing former Cook County Board President Todd Stroger back. He stinks, too.
It seems like the federal government keeps getting bigger. I think the cost of it is bankrupting America. These local governments should cut back. They keep getting bigger also. Just take a look at the New Lenox Village Hall. I think it looks like it could be the Capitol building in many states. Why they need such an extravagant building is beyond me. It’s like the Taj Mahal. I don’t even go there except to put my water bill in the mailbox outside. I understand they are going to build a police station that will match it in size. Why?
Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher was offered $2 million for one year to stay with the Bears. He said it wasn’t enough. He must have taken too many hits to the head. I would love to get $2 million for one year. He needs to fess up that he is too old to be playing.
Prairie State College chairwoman Jacqueline Agee ought to step down. I think she is cheating the people by having her stepfather, Leo Alexander, work there for $80,000 per year. Isn’t that nepotism?
The Crestwood voters need to vote with their brains and not their bellies. The current administration’s front guy needs to be voted out. We were poisoned by our village’s water.
Here is a question. What is the opposite of pro? The answer is con. Then what is the opposite of progress? The answer is Congress.

The only constant is change. It’s how we rise to the occasion that makes all the difference.
