A shout-out to Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade who received a humanitarian award for giving back to Robbins and the inner-city youth of Chicago.

A comment was made as to why President Obama’s children aren’t joining the military. They are still too young. Former President Bush’s girls were the right age while he was in office and they never joined. Why?
Columnist Phil Kadner need not worry about Will County having any control regarding the unnecessary and unwanted South Suburban Airport. We here in eastern Will County will be busy controlling the food pantries and other general assistance services to help feed the families that were unjustly kicked off their land and farms and out of their homes. Perhaps the communities “spurning” the idea of this airport know it is not filling a transportation void or need and is not economically viable or sustainable. But we know that our farmland, crops and agricultural way of life are viable.

A lot of people are upset about what celebrity chef Paula Deen said. I wonder if anybody has ever listened to hip-hop singers and what their work consists of. Some of their work consists of killing people, shooting police and calling each other the big N-word a thousand times in their so-called songs. Maybe somebody ought to listen to this before they start knocking other people down.
Yes, people, enjoy the forest preserves, walking and cycling, but please, when you arrive at a street, stop and cross only when the crosswalk says to cross or when it is clear to cross.
A Speak Out commenter noted the class shown by the Chicago Blackhawks players. I’m sure this person can’t say this now after goalie Corey Crawford’s boorish behavior at the victory celebration. Almost everything he said had to be bleeped on television. What really bothered me was all of the children hearing his crude comments. Even several of the players laughed at what he said. Class? What class? Many people I spoke to said his behavior put a damper on the victory celebration.

Does anyone else out there love the TV show “The Big Bang Theory” but absolutely hate the theme song?
Affirmative action is a form of reverse discrimination against the most qualified men and women. Affirmative action is an attack on human intelligence. If a person is having a serious brain operation, he wants the most competent surgeon available, not someone who squeezed through affirmative action because of his race. Get real!
To Janet from Oak Lawn: I’m the Burbank commenter. My point about the Rolling Stones was the prices for tickets. Main floor for $600? Get real! Nothing is worth that. If they could resurrect John Lennon and George Harrison and reform the Beatles I wouldn’t pay that much. I’m glad to see Mick Taylor, the best guitarist the Stones had, play a few songs with them. That doesn’t make it worth that money. Where’s original bassist Bill Wyman? I have seen them, eight times beginning in 1969 with openers Terry Reid and Chuck Berry. You really got much for $7.50.
You must be anti-American if you thought the Defense of Marriage Act and Proposition 8 were going to pass. If your only supporting argument was using unsound examples to connect it to dangerous activity, children as a pawn, paranoid theories about the end of civilization or, most of all, the simple idea that you thought the Bible was going to rule over the Constitution, you must not have a good grasp of how America works or you’re really anti-American. Good thing Big Brother is watching you!
Former Chicago Ald. Sandi Jackson failed to report $600,000 on income tax returns for several years. These are the same types of politicians who raised our taxes. The sad part about it is if they ran for election again they would probably get elected because of the way the Democrats redrew the district map. Everybody else would have to just put up with it. It’s a sad situation.
That inequity between public employees and the private sector cannot be sustained without serious social consequences. I will not be here to see those social consequences because I’m counting the month when I can leave this sad state of Illinois, never to return. Property taxes and greed within this government is killing us.

We are legislating the United States’ downfall.

There’s seems to be a general belief among Speak Out commenters that speculators only work when prices are going up. They also seem to believe that speculators only exist on Wall Street. I think speculating is a part of human nature. People speculate on the weather, the direction of the wind five minutes from now, sports, the building of the pyramids, the origins of the universe, etc. Please educate yourselves.
What is in America’s future? It’s polygamy. Sooner than we think, some Americans will fight for numerous legal spouses. Just wait.
Lucifer was a perfect angel created by God and put in charge of the Earth. Adam was a perfect human created by God and placed in the garden of Eden. Lucifer became self-righteous like many nowadays and greedy. He resisted God’s plans like many now and became Satan. That is what the word means: resister. Satan made himself a devil by deceiving Eve. Devil means deceit. Lucifer made himself the way he is and so do we.
