In my armchair coaching experience, I say there is one Single(tary, as in Mike Singletary) hole in the Chicago Bears defense.
I believe in freedom of speech but not when it’s used to destroy someone’s life. Rebecca Sedwick is the latest victim. Because of cyberbullying, she killed herself. She was 12. The family of a 14-year-old accused of leading the bullying describes her as a good girl. Really? Neighbors say she bullied other kids. I’m guessing this girl learned her ignorant ways at home. With cell phones and the Internet, current bullying is thousands of times worse than when we were kids. The parents of the accused need to be charged too. Parents have to check their kids’ phones, Facebook, etc.
We have the right to protest. You can call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 to get hold of your U.S. senator or U.S. representative.
It seems like every time I read about Rich Township High School District 227, it’s negative. These people have some serious problems in their district. I suggest they fire the entire school board and start over again.
I see a person from Chicago said this to antievolutionist that the evolution theory is not a stand-alone idea. Does this person know the definition of the word “theory?” It is a “doctrine or scheme of things resting merely on speculation.” The idea comes from other people who know no more than anyone else except their desired position in their careers. If they don’t jump through the hoops promoting the agenda, then they don’t receive the money grants that enrich their personal lives. That is no theory.
Some Democrats think Obamacare is the Holy Grail for the Obama administration. President Obama, U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi and U.S. Sen. Harry Reid are in denial about this plan’s cost and value to the American people. Our young people won’t buy the plan because of its cost. The immigrants who are in America illegally think Obamacare is another free entitlement program with no cost to them and will continue to use hospital emergency rooms and cause the working-class taxpayers to pick up their bills. It’s time for the American citizens to wake up to Obama’s liberalism and its spending philosophy.

Now the Washington Redskins are on the hot seat for being politically incorrect. I, for one, am appalled when politicians refer to themselves as the “honorable” so-and-so .Calling a politician honorable is an insult to all of the honorable people of the world. The so-and-so part would be absolutely correct.
I was employed with Dominick’s years ago, with the union. Now I’m with another grocer with a union. The problem with the unions is they want your union dues. Most of the time they will listen to you. The problem is that if you call the union, the management at the store will kind of come after you with nitpicking because you called the union so that you won’t contact the union again.
Please refrain from using the term “public servants” when referring to politicians. If a real servant said that he was giving himself a raise, then he would be fired.

How is Obamacare going to be fair especially to the poorer people? I think people like I who are out of work and don’t have an income will not be able to afford a monthly health insurance payment. There will be different grades of insurance, and I’m sure the cheapest grade isn’t going to cover much of anything with a huge deductible. How is it going to be fair to ram something down our throats and make us pay for something or fine us through the Internal Revenue Service even though we can’t pay it? How is that not like a communist country?
I’d like to thank the individual who provided the great entertainment at the bank drive-up window on Oct. 12. He appeared to be angry about something and was screaming at the tellers. He was not in his car because he parked his car in a way that he was blocking two lanes. He then went after two older women in a car and proceeded to take a picture of the front of their car to get the plate number. Like I said, it was entertaining to watch someone being a total imbecile in public, and it was only 9:15 a.m.

The Farmers’ Almanac predicted a cold and snowy winter for 2013-14. I blame the severe weather on the Republicans.
Apparently the person commenting about civics class lessons in Speak Out was absent on the day when they covered that laws or bills must originate in the House of Representatives. I guess you should revisit the fifth grade. Also, there’s a reason why these checks and balances are in place. Your anger is nauseating.

While some people whoop it up at professional football games or watch those contests on television, I can’t recommend enough that Southlanders should support their local high school teams. These kids balance athletics with school, work and sometimes a ton of other responsibilities. They work hard and play hard, and they deserve recognition for all their efforts. Often, parents and supporters of the team have fundraisers to help with equipment and other needs. Go to the games to show your school spirit. These games are great community activities and really showcase their sports.
