Ricky Rubio, who held his own against Derrick Rose, called the Bulls guard "one of the best if not the best player I ever played against."

Eagle Ridge complains about Obamacare. He says it is more expensive for less coverage. Where do you get your information? My coverage has not changed. My prices have not gone up. This program is not hurting more people than it will help.
If Paul Vallas had been elected governor in 2002, this state wouldn’t be in the mess it is in now. What’s puzzling is why he wants to partner with Gov. Quinn. Vallas is more like the anti-Quinn. We all know that the state income tax is going to 10 percent, just as we knew the 5 percent income tax would be made permanent. What we don’t know is will we have a governor who is concerned about taxpayers getting quality services for their money, not just cutting deals with public unions?
Paper vs. plastic bags? I bring an 8-inch-deep cardboard box to the grocery store.
To RC of Oak Lawn: While calling CEOs greedy pigs, you forgot to mention professional sports players who get millions for playing a “game” or the Hollywood set who get paid millions per picture for just “pretending.”
A commenter stated that public school teachers deserve big pensions because they don’t get Social Security. But do they deserve free medical insurance? Twelve months’ pay for eight months’ work plus personal days and vacation days? Vacations in Europe every summer? My heart bleeds for you.
I would very much like to thank the gentleman who found my purse in a shopping cart and returned it to Menards in Tinley Park. It’s good to know that there are kind and honest people in our neighborhood. Thank you so much.
As Tinley Park prepares for the much-needed resurfacing of Oak Park Avenue, it is planning to include another bike path through that area. There is barely enough room for the traffic and street parking, and few to none use the bike paths we already have in town. But then, maybe you’d like to ride your bike through there and enjoy the scenic blight.
Dear Mike from Bridgeview: If Cubs baseball is all about the neighborhood atmosphere around the ballpark, then I hope Better Homes and Gardens magazine gives them a world championship trophy. Also, did you know the last six Cubs owners have said they were “rebuilding”? So the Cubs have been rebuilding for at least 50 years. If you want to see good baseball in Chicago by a team that has actually won world championships, see the Sox. If you’re interested in a team in last place that is in a nice neighborhood, see the Cubs.
Just read that actress Charlize Theron, height 5-foot-10, and actor Sean Penn, 5-foot-8, are an item. Well, if a runt like Penn, who finds a lot about America distasteful, has a shot at someone like Theron, all you lonely guys out there have a real chance at finding someone special.
What happened to freedom of speech in this country? How is it someone can be banned for life from some sporting event for something they said? I don’t condone what the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers said, but I’ll defend to the death his right to say it. If you don’t like what he said turn it off.
The environmentalists keep pushing solar power and corn ethanol even though they make no economic sense. Let the people who like solar power and corn ethanol pay for it. Stop giving them taxpayer subsidies.
After I read Phil Kadner’s love-fest column about Paul Vallas, I wondered why he failed to ask how allowing the income tax hike to expire next year as promised by the Democrats equates to cutting taxes. Vallas talks about honesty, so were all the Democrats who voted for this tax increase lying to us when they promised it was going to end in 2015?
