Stacy Peterson, wife of former Bolingbrook police Sgt. Drew Peterson, has been missing for nearly five years. She was last seen at her home on Oct. 29, 2007.
The investigation into her disappearance gained national attention as her husband became a celebrity of sorts, appearing on national TV shows such as “Today” and “Dr. Phil.”
Stacy has never been found but her disappearance led to the re-opening of the death of Drew Peterson’s third wife, Kathleen Savio, who was found dead in her Bolingbrook home in 2004. Savio’s death was initially ruled accidental.
The subsequent investigation led to Savio’s death being ruled a homicide. Drew Peterson was arrested for that murder in May 2009. He is scheduled to stand trial in a Will County courtroom this month.
