Andrew water polo player Megan Hofer, a junior, scored 43 goals last season.

What are your goals for the rest of the season?

Hopefully, I can get my team to go far in sectionals and hopefully I can make All-State this year.

What do you like most about water polo?

I started out swimming when I was really little. Then I started playing water polo and I absolutely love it. I think it’s because it’s a team sport. Swimming is individual, but water polo is all about the team. It’s just fun, too. It’s aggressive and it’s fun.

How dirty does it get under water?

It depends on how dirty you want it to get. (Laughs) You can be really physical and it can get kind of nasty sometimes, but you can also just play a strong game against each other and it doesn’t have to be like that.

Do you have any hidden talents?

Not really. I don’t really do anything else besides swim and play water polo. I’m pretty much in the water all the time. I’m not really good at land sports, and I never really was.

What’s your favorite sports movie?

“Miracle”. That was a great hockey movie.

What’s in your iPod?

Just a variety. I really like anything when it comes to music. Whatever my friends listen to, I’ll listen to.

You’re stranded on a deserted island and can have an endless supply of one food. What do you pick?

Probably ice cream. I really like ice cream.

What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

Chocolate. That’s all I eat. I eat it all the time.

If you could take any celebrity to prom, who would it be?

Channing Tatum. Ever since “She’s the Man” I’ve been obsessed with him.

As told to Steve Millar
