The multiple state champion will attend Texas A&M in the fall on a track scholarship. She credits her father and coach, Angelo, for much of her success on the track.

Favorite sports team?

The Bulls. I was watching the playoffs. I’ve been so busy with track so I can’t really watch TV.

Favorite music?

R&B and rap. Usually R&B, because I like the messages that R&B has. Rap is just like beats.

Favorite thing to eat in the school cafeteria?

Right now it’s the chicken fajita wraps with some ranch (dressing) on it. It’s so good. It used to be the fries with some ranch, but I can’t eat the fries any more.

Favorite pigout food?

I can eat chicken any time, with a nice side of hot sauce.

Who would be your celebrity prom date?

Tyrese Gibson. He’s an actor. He has it all, he has it all.

What will you remember most about high school?

I’d say track, all the accomplishments. I feel like we’ve grown a lot as a team at Lincoln-Way East, all the different runners.

Who’s the one person you’d like to have a conversation with?

My mom, she passed away in 2008. To hear how she’s proud of me and all the stuff I’ve been doing. Just talk about what I could be doing now and then talk about what I’m trying to do in the future.

What are your goals for the future?

My goal is to go to the Olympics — and not just go to the Olympics and say that I went there. I want to win. I want to be a gold medalist in the Olympics. I’m shooting for the Olympics in 2016. That’s my goal.

As told to Tim Tierney
