Oak Lawn police are investigating an apparent arson fire Aug. 31 at a house in  the 9800 block of Moody Avenue. One of the homeowners told police that she awoke to the smell of smoke about 4:20 a.m. and found smoke and flames around the front door. A doctor with offices in Oak Lawn and Tinley Park reported that someone stole dozens of bottles of prescription medicine valued at more than $12,400, Oak Lawn police said.
