Wrestling
Reed-Custer Invitational: Wilmington totaled 237.5 points in winning first place among the 16 competing squads. The Wildcats produced champions in Stephen Kettner (113), Trent Lyons (126), Andy Rodewald (132), Jayson Conlin (170) and Alex Peterson (195).
Geneseo Invitational: Eddie Klimara won the title at 126 pounds in leading Providence (121.5 points) to a sixth-place finish in the 16-team event. Ronald Triche (106) and Vince Ambrose (220) added second-place showings for the Celtics.
Lisle Invitational: Tournament MVP Nick Collofello won the title at 182 pounds in leading Joliet Catholic (133) to a third-place finish. Cameron Haney (113) and Anthony McInerney (195) also won crowns for the Hilltoppers.
Batavia Invitational: Lincoln-Way Central (213 points) topped Lemont (189.5) for first place in the 16-team field. Tyler Price (113 pounds), Joe Nelson (120) and Robbie Mikenis (132) won titles for Lincoln-Way Central. Lemont’s weight class winners were Jake Latanski (126), Jake Kaminsky (152), Eric Kirkman (170), Chris Giatras (182) and John Tomala (195).
Neuqua Valley duals: Greg Cameron (220) won three times by decision and once by technical fall for Plainfield Central, which defeated Bolingbrook 59-4 for its only win. The Wildcats also lost to Wisconsin Rapids 46-24, Neuqua Valley 37-35 and Glenbard North 42-13.
Boys Basketball
West Aurora 69, No. 5 Lockport 67 (2 OTs): Kyle Ward had 22 points for visiting Lockport (11-6).
Martin Luther King Tournament
York 56, Minooka 31: Minooka (11-5) lost the second-round game at Galesburg.
Girls Basketball
No. 3 Romeoville 54, Mount Assisi 36: Kiera Currie totaled 15 points and nine rebounds for visiting Romeoville (13-4).
Carmel 65, Joliet Catholic 58: Host Joliet Catholic (7-11, 1-3) was beaten in the East Suburban Catholic.
Interstate Eight Tournament
Dwight 36, Wilmington 27: Claire Elsey’s 16 points sparked Dwight (6-14) in the consolation bracket at Coal City. Kaylie Davis had eight points for Wilmington (2-18).
Womens Basketball
Madison (Wis.) 76, Joliet Junior College 70 (OT): Celestra Warren had 33 points and seven rebounds for host Joliet Junior College (6-9, 0-2) in the Region IV game.
Boys Bowling
South Suburban Blue Tournament: Lemont (5,283 series) was fifth in the seven-team meet at Centennial Lanes in Tinley Park. The Indians were led by Jake Markley (1,166), who finished 10th.
SouthWest Suburban Blue Tournament: Lockport (6,214) captured the crown behind John Isit (1,380), who was second at Bolingbrook AMF Lanes. Brian Hodolitz (1,314) added a third-place showing for the Porters. Bolingbrook’s Bart Montecinos (1,281) finished fifth and Joliet West’s Alex Galvan (1,280) came in sixth. Sandburg (6,087) was second in the team standings, followed by Bolingbrook (5,850), Joliet West (5,770), Lincoln-Way East (5,674) and Joliet Central (4,787).
SouthWest Suburban Red Tournament: Lincoln-Way West (5,612) finished third behind Andrew (6,257) and Lincoln-Way North (6,257) at Bolingbrook AMF Lanes. Lincoln-Way West’s Nick Mikoff and Lincoln-Way Central’s Danny Derby tied for sixth with a 1,201 series. Lincoln-Way Central (5,516) and Stagg (4,980) rounded out the field.
Southwest Prairie Tournament: Minooka (5,934) finished second behind Oswego (5,943) at Aurora’s Parkside Lanes. Romeoville (5,776) came in fourth and Plainfield East (5,357) was fifth.
Girls Bowling
Fenton Invitational: Lockport (5,748) was second and Plainfield Central (5,116) 11th in the 24-team meet at Wood Dale Bowl. Plainfield Central was paced by Autumn Lee (1,225), who finished fifth. Lauren Troha (1,184) led Lockport with an 11th-place finish.
Boys Swimming
Riverside-Brookfield Invitational: Jake Voltarel (371.75 points) won the diving competition in aiding Lockport (227) to a fifth-place finish. Morris (100) was eighth in the meet won by Riverside-Brookfield (281).
Girls Gymnastics
Neuqua Valley Invitational: Lincoln-Way co-op (134.850) was fourth in the eight-team meet won by Prairie Ridge (140.325).
