Kevin Moylan

School: Stagg

Sport: Wrestling

Year: Senior

Moylan has been close to the wrestling mountaintop. As a junior he finished third in state at 140 pounds, compiling a 45-4 record.

Moylan envisions himself improving upon last year’s finish. He won the 145-pound title at the Charger Invitational earlier this season, his first, after posting a second-place finish a season ago.

“It feels great to finally win the Charger invite as a senior,” Moylan said. “It’s especially nice getting the win in my home gym.”

Ryan Campin

School: Oak Lawn

Sport: Bowling

Year: Junior

Campin has been one of the area’s best bowlers since his freshman year. He’s had his average up near 225 this season. He’s also thrown two 300 games in practice.

His favorite thing about the sport isn’t a surprise.

“Getting strikes,” he said. “It really energizes you.”

Outside the lanes, Campin knows his way in the kitchen.

“I’m pretty good at cooking,” he said. “I enjoy it. I give my mom a break and cook dinner. I like to make Italian food.”

Steve Millar

Analis Ramirez

School: Bremen

Sport: Bowling

Year: Senior

Ramirez is one of the veteran leaders of a Bremen squad that’s hoping to get hot in the home stretch and earn its third straight trip to the state championships.

“Last season, getting to state was a blast,” she said. “It was a great experience. I definitely want to get back.”

If the Braves do, team chemistry will play a big part.

“I like my team more than anything,” Ramirez said. “We’re more like a family than anything else. We just have a good time all the time.”

Ciara Adkins

School: H-F

Sport: Gymnastics

Year: Senior

After being out the majority of last season because of a knee injury, Adkins is experimenting with a variety of new moves and routines this season.

“I’ve been trying some new tricks on floor and beam. The scores are there so it seems to be working out for me,” she said.

Adkins is ranked second in her class and plans to attend Harvard University in the fall.
