High School Sports Roundup for Jan. 24, 2012

Boys Basketball

Reavis 57, Morgan Park Academy 40: Eddie Puha scored 12 points and Nick Bal added 11 for visiting Reavis (8-10). Nick Boarden had 16 points for Morgan Park Academy.

Ag. Science 55, Fenger 51: Roy Barnes netted 18 points and Mike Robinson tacked on 10 to pace host Ag. Science (11-7, 6-2) in the Public League Blue-South.

Girls Basketball

No. 1 Marist 57, Resurrection 24: JeTaun Rouse and Leah Bolton scored 17 points apiece for host Marist (22-1).

No. 3 Lincoln-Way East 58, Lockport 24: Taylor Johnson (15 points) surpassed the 1,000-point mark for her career to aid visiting Lincoln-Way East (17-2, 7-1) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Caitlin McMahon had a game-best 18 points for the Griffins, who gave coach Jim Martin his 200th lifetime victory in 11 seasons at the school. Taylor Quain led Lockport (5-15, 1-7) with 12 points and five rebounds.

Bloom 22, T.F. South 18: Bria Gaines contributed 14 points and nine rebounds to lift visiting Bloom (12-8). Kaitlin Togtman totaled eight points for T.F. South (12-6).

Seton 51, St. Benedict 37: Brittany Mitchell and Ebony Bailey each scored 12 points for host Seton (15-7) in the GCAC White.

Illinois Lutheran 63, Donovan 34: Cynthia Frazier scored a career-high 20 points to pace host Illinois Lutheran (4-13, 2-7) in the River Valley.

Girls Bowling

Rich South 1,764, Evergreen Park 1,451: Salest Stewart had a 237 game and 395 series for Rich South at Lakewood Bowl. Evergreen Park’s Sarah Klawitter (233 game) led all competitors with a 416 series.
