Boys Basketball

Thornton 67, Lincoln-Way North 41: Josh Russell (15 points) and Ed Buie (11) were the top scorers for visiting Thornton (7-9, 5-1) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Tre Lewis had 15 points for Lincoln-Way North (6-14, 2-6).

Oak Forest 71, Lincoln-Way West 45: Mario Schaeffer scored 22 points and Kyle Funkhouser tacked on 14 for host Oak Forest (10-8). Lincoln-Way West fell to 2-17.

Lincoln-Way Central 50, Shepard 34: Johnny Finnin contributed 22 points to pace visiting Lincoln-Way Central (8-10). Shepard (5-13) received 14 points from Martice Weatherspoon.

Richards 64, Willowbrook 47: Josh Meier totaled 17 points for host Richards (10-8).

Naperville North 64, Rich Central 59: Mike Kirk racked up 20 points for host Rich Central (6-13).

Leyden 57, Argo 38: Jalyn Turner finished with 19 points for visiting Argo (7-12).

St. Francis de Sales 63, Brother Rice 61: Alex Majewski chalked up 23 points for visiting Brother Rice (11-7, 5-1) in the Catholic League South.

St. Joseph 68, De La Salle 61: Marcus White poured in 31 points for host De La Salle (13-3, 4-2) in the Catholic League North.

Gardner-South Wilmington 80, Beecher 54: Nick Burkhardt had 10 points for visiting Beecher (6-13, 3-4) in the River Valley.

Girls Basketball

No. 3 Lincoln-Way East 51, Joliet West 27: Amy Jacobosen’s 16 points led visiting Lincoln-Way East (18-2, 8-1) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

No. 4 Homewood-Flossmoor 58, Lockport 41: Amena Brent had 16 points and nine rebounds lead visiting Homewood-Flossmoor (16-6, 7-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Hannah Hollatz contributed 13 points and seven rebounds for Lockport (5-16, 1-8).

No. 7 Mother McAuley 72, No. 9 Rich Central 66 (OT): Alyssa Siwek scored 13 points for host Mother McAuley (15-9). Alex Stanford had 30 points for Rich Central (18-6).

Ag. Science 37, Reavis 34: April Baar totaled 13 points and five rebounds for host Ag. Science (14-5). Stephanie Verduzco had 16 points for Reavis (6-14).

Willows 39, Morgan Park Academy 27: Kelly Sorfleet netted 12 points for host Morgan Park Academy (7-9, 3-3) in the Independent School League.

Lincoln-Way North 54, Thornwood 39: Taylor Boardman poured in 24 points to pace visiting Lincoln-Way North (17-5, 7-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Arielle Miree had 12 points for Thornwood.

Oak Lawn 53, Bloom 47: Brooke Annerino (18 points) guided host Oak Lawn (12-8). Bria Gaines led Bloom (12-9) with 17 points.

Lincoln-Way Central 49, Joliet Central 45: Rachel Post had 11 points for visiting Lincoln-Way Central (11-9, 3-6) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Evergreen Park 1,516, Eisenhower 1,455: Sarah Klawitter (363 series) guided Evergreen Park in the South Suburban Red.

T.F. North 1,699, Oak Lawn 1,550: T.F. North teammates Erica Levine and Kadejah Stevens each rolled a 368 series in the South Suburban crossover.

Tinley Park 1,586, Argo 1,335: Caitlyn Abrand’s 355 series spearheaded Tinley Park in the South Suburban crossover.

Boys Swimming

Thornton Fractional co-op 68, Bremen 26: Brendan Moore won the 50-yard freestyle (25.45 seconds) for host Thornton Fractional co-op in the South Suburban Blue.

Tinley Park 102, Shepard 78: Andrew Griffin won two events, including the 500 free (5 minutes, 18.15 seconds) for visiting Tinley Park in the South Suburban crossover.

Lemont 100, Oak Forest 76: Justin Stanwyck, of visiting Lemont, prevailed the 50 free (25.92 seconds) and 100 free (57.50) in the South Suburban Blue.

Sandburg 126, Homewood-Flossmoor 59: Matt Veldman’s victory in the 200 individual medley (2:05.32) aided visiting Sandburg in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Richards 110, Argo 60: Neal Slowinski won the 100 backstroke (1:03.73) for host Richards in the South Suburban Red.

Lockport 43, Joliet Township co-op 16: Jake Knowles, of host Lockport, won the 200 free (1:53.03) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Lincoln-Way East 105, Lincoln-Way Central 78: Visiting Lincoln-Way East prevailed in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Reavis 100, Eisenhower 76: Host Reavis was a winner in the South Suburban Red.

Men’s Basketball

St. Xavier 90, Olivet Nazarene 87 (OT): Brad Karp had 35 points and 11 rebounds for host St. Xavier (16-5, 2-0) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

South Suburban 89, Columbia College 49: Keenan Williams had 20 points and 15 rebounds for host South Suburban (21-1).

Women’s Basketball

Olivet Nazarene 119, St. Xavier 89: Marissa Young (10 points) reached the 1,000-point career point mark for host St. Xavier (14-6, 1-1) in the CCAC. Suzie Broski had a personal-best 27 points to lead the Cougars.
