Coming off Tuesday’s win over neighborhood rival Tinley Park and getting set for Sunday’s showdown with Thornwood for first place in the SouthWest Suburban Red, it wouldn’t have been a shocker if No. 1 Andrew came out flat for Friday night’s game vs. Lincoln-Way West.

Glorind Lisha wouldn’t let that happen. The point guard scored 10 of his game-high 20 points in the first quarter as Andrew raced to a 11-0 lead and never looked back in a 66-30 rout of the Warriors in New Lenox.

“Coach [Mike O’Halloran] always tells us that our biggest game is the next game,” Lisha said. “I just got hot tonight. The ball was going in and we played well as a team.”

Tyler Hook added 12 points off the bench for Andrew (15-0, 6-0). Jawad Adekoya and Jubril Adekoya each had seven points. Jubril did not play after the first quarter.

Luke Horvath (9 points) and Ryan Novak (6 points, 7 rebounds) led West (2-18, 0-6).

Lisha hit two three-pointers and scored on two nifty drives into the lane in the opening quarter as the Thunderbolts led 19-10 after one.

Andrew forced nine turnovers, converting them into 12 points, while outscoring the Warriors 24-7 in the second to blow it open.

The T-bolts finished 27-of-50 from the floor and committed just six turnovers while holding West to 11-of-43 shooting and forcing 17 giveaways. Eleven players scored for the visitors.

“It was a total team effort,” O’Halloran said. “It was nice to get chunks of five or six minutes at a time for some of our guys off the bench.”

Playing without leading scorer Kevin White, West lost point guard Cody James to injury early in the game. “We’re so banged up right now,” West Coach Eric Long said, “and when you’re as young as we are, the season takes its toll. We’re not going to give up or roll over, though.”
