Boys Basketball

No. 7 Bloom 69, Rich Central 41: Johnny Griffin and Lejavious Johnson had 14 points apiece for visiting Bloom (17-3, 4-1) in the Southland. Donald Moore added 12 points for the Blazing Trojans. Rich Central fell to 6-14, 1-4.

No. 9 St. Rita 82, Gordon Tech 63: Tony Hicks put up 26 points to lead visiting St. Rita (10-8, 6-1) in the Catholic League North. Victor Law aided the cause for the Mustangs with 23 points and 12 rebounds.

No. 10 Lemont 56, Bremen 34: Mike Wisz contributed 16 points to lead visiting Lemont (17-2, 7-1) in the South Suburban Blue. Matt Lipowski chipped in 15 points and six rebounds for the Indians.

Chicago Christian 47, Shepard 40: Corey Bulthuis (13 points) and Michael Kamp (12 points, 7 rebounds) sparked host Chicago Christian (7-14). Londell Lee totaled 12 points for Shepard (5-14).

Stagg 52, Lincoln-Way North 44: Sean Dwyer and Kamil Barnas each tossed in 13 points for host Stagg (10-8, 3-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Tre Lewis’ 12 points were the most for Lincoln-Way North (6-15, 2-4).

Oak Lawn 60, Reavis 38: Martin Einikis totaled 21 points to spearhead host Oak Lawn (9-9, 5-4) in the South Suburban Red. Nick Bal had 15 points for Reavis (8-11, 2-6).

Eisenhower 97, Argo 86: Tyrone Terrell made eight three-pointers and finished with 38 points to lead visiting Eisenhower (7-14, 3-6) in the South Suburban Red. Tamone Littlefield, Ryan Krob and Tyler Mitchell had 16 points apiece for Argo (7-13, 3-6).

T.F. South 61, Tinley Park 56: Paul Pierce netted 20 points to spark visiting T.F. South (12-7, 5-3) in the South Suburban Blue. Ryan Bunn and Tracey Brandy each scored 12 points for Tinley Park (10-10, 7-2).

Providence 57, Leo 46: Kevin Kozan had 21 points to ignite host Providence (11-7, 3-3) in the Catholic League South.

Thornridge 62, Bradley 49: Gene Jackson chalked up 21 points for visiting Thornridge (7-10, 2-4) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Ryan Burch added 14 points for the Falcons.

De La Salle 52, Loyola 33: Gavin Schilling provided 16 points for visiting De La Salle (14-3, 5-2) in the Catholic League North.

Illiana Christian 74, Glenbard South 69 (OT): Jon Zandstra and Elijah Lares each scored 19 points for visiting Illiana Christian (9-9, 1-5) in the Metro Suburban.

Illinois Lutheran 73, Cullom Tri-Point 60: Mac Newson’s 24 points led visiting Illinois Lutheran (10-6, 5-4) in the River Valley.

Girls Basketball

No. 9 Rich Central 59, Oak Forest 49: Alex Stanford poured in 20 points for visiting Rich Central (19-6). Oak Forest (14-8) received 21 points from Emily Naegele and 12 from Katie Swanson.

Eisenhower 41, Argo 31: Shavonne Lewis scored 14 points and Germeisha McGee added 12 for visiting Eisenhower (6-12, 2-7) in the South Suburban Red.

Oak Lawn 60, Reavis 45: LaTondra Brooks had 17 points to lead host Oak Lawn (13-8, 5-5) in the South Suburban Red. Brooke Annerino tacked on 13 points for the Spartans. Stephanie Verduzco led Reavis (6-15, 2-8) with 10 points.

Lemont 52, Bremen 28: Kelsey Motto’s 17 points guided host Lemont (7-16, 6-4) in the South Suburban Blue.

Wrestling

East Suburban Catholic Meet: Marist totaled 214 points in winning first place. The RedHawks were led by 182-pound champion Etan Benoit, who named the tournament’s outstanding wrestler. Mark Duda (113), Mario Levielle (120), Peter Andreotti (152), Joe Galason (160), Alex Benoit (170), Josh Pruitt (195) and Josh Hickey (285) also won crowns for Marist. Host Marian Catholic (65) finished sixth, the Spartans producing two runners-up in Frank Voltattorni (138) and Nate Jackson (170).

Providence 37, Mount Carmel 29: Eddie Klimara (126) and Zac Morgan (heavyweight) had pins for visiting Providence in the Catholic League. Mike Mizaur (132) won by fall for Mount Carmel.
