Boys Volleyball
Lincoln-Way Central Regional
Lincoln-Way East 25-25, Lincoln-Way Central 18-23: Jake Tomaras had 17 digs and Nate Royer added 13 kills to guide Lincoln-Way East (34-3) in the championship. Austin Overby had seven kills for Lincoln-Way Central (23-14), which played its last match under retiring coach Joann Holverson.
Lockport Regional
Minooka 25-20-25, Providence 17-25-15: Providence (20-18) came up short in three-game title match.
Marian Catholic Regional
Lincoln-Way North 25-25, Richards 21-13: Lincoln-Way North (33-4) secured its first-ever regional title. Richards closed with a 26-6 mark.
Reavis Regional
Mount Carmel 25-25, Reavis 16-22: Bob Walsh had 11 kills for Mount Carmel (14-16) in the championship. Reavis wrapped up the season with a 16-16 record.
Riverside-Brookfield Regional
St. Rita 25-25, Riverside-Brookfield 19-18: John Johnson slammed 18 kills in guiding St. Rita (23-14) to its 11th regional crown in the past 12 seasons.
Sandburg Regional
Sandburg 25-25, Andrew 21-22: The victory in the title match enabled Sandburg to qualify for the Lincoln-Way East Sectional. Casey Bormet (9 kills, 8 digs) and Sanil Thomas (21 assists, 7 digs) were among the standouts for Andrew (19-12-1).
Baseball
Class 3A Crete-Monee Regional
No. 6 Lemont 11, Rich East 0: Tyler Jay struck out eight over four innings in combining with Jake Terrazas on a perfect game for Lemont (23-9). Mark Tokarski hit a solo homer for the Indians and Jeff Worsech (2-for-3) added an RBI double in the five-inning semifinal.
Class 3A Oak Forest Regional
No. 8 Oak Forest 3, Rich South 1: George Jester banged out two hits, including a home run, to spark Oak Forest (26-6) in the semifinal. Matt Zubek was the winning pitcher.
Class 4A Fenwick Regional
No. 4 St. Laurence 10, Proviso East 3: Kevin Smith (3-for-4) had two RBI for St. Laurence (29-6-1) in the semifinal.
Class 4A Homewood-Flossmoor Regional
No. 9 Sandburg 6, Thornton 1: Dan Rizzie (2-for-3) belted a two-run homer to power Sandburg (23-7) in the semifinal. Winning pitcher Brent Jurceka (6-3) lasted six innings, surrendering one run and striking out five.
Homewood-Flossmoor 6, Shepard 5: Pat Sheehan’s infield single in the bottom of the seventh scored Danny Lietz with the winning run for Homewood-Flossmoor (21-11) in the semifinal.
Class 4A Lincoln-Way North Regional
No. 1 Lincoln-Way North 18, Brooks co-op 1: Jake Troike (2-for-2, 3 runs) had a two-run double and a two-run triple to spark Lincoln-Way North (31-5) in the five-inning semifinal. Dominic Hartman (2-for-2, 3 runs) added a two-run triple for the Phoenix.
No. 7 Lockport 7, Stagg 6: Josh Altmann’s two-run double in the bottom of the sixth was the difference for Lockport (24-12) in the semifinal. Brandon Campbell had two RBI for Stagg (16-20).
Class 4A Mount Carmel Regional
No. 3 Mount Carmel 15, Proviso West 1: Tom Hayes went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI for Mount Carmel (30-5) in the five-inning semifinal. Justin Gonzalez also had three RBI for the Caravan, which took control by scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the second.
Class 4A Providence Regional
No. 2 Providence 13, Eisenhower 3: Zak Kutsulis (3-for-3) and Kevin Tully (3-for-4) each racked up three RBI for Providence, which scored in every frame of the five-inning semifinal. Kevin Reiher posted an RBI for Eisenhower (7-26).
Class 4A St. Rita Regional
No. 5 St. Rita 11, Curie 1: Anthony Ray went 2-for-2 with a triple and three RBI to spark St. Rita (23-12). Mike Costanzo (7-2) tossed a two-hitter and struck out seven for the Mustangs in the five-inning semifinal.

Class 3A Bremen Regional
Bremen 19, T.F. North 1: Maggie Hayes (3-for-3, 2 RBI) and Erin Schaffrath each scored four runs for Bremen (13-19) in the five-inning semifinal.
Class 3A Crete-Monee Regional
Kankakee 13, Rich East 3: Rich East lost the semifinal in six innings.
Class 3A Marian Catholic Regional
Tinley Park 10, Rich Central 0: Cosette Tomita threw a five-inning no-hitter in helping Tinley Park (23-10) advance to the championship. Liz Brezenski, Amber Buss and Alyssa Gunther notched two hits and two runs apiece for the Titans.
Class 3A Nazareth Regional
Nazareth 10, Morgan Park 0: Catherine Usher struck out 12 and also slammed two home runs to propel Nazareth in the semifinal.
Class 4A Andrew Regional
No. 9 Sandburg 11, Shepard 3: Ellie Forkin (4-for-5) belted a two-run homer and totaled six RBI to lift Sandburg (20-15) in the semifinal. Amanda Barna (13-10) yielded three unearned runs and fanned 12 in hurling a complete game.
Class 4A Lyons Regional
Lyons 10, Argo 0: Argo’s season ended in the semifinal.
Class 4A Reavis Regional
No. 7 Marist 10, T.F. South 0: Brooke Wyderski, Katie Caulfield and Haley Richey knocked in runs for Marist (21-15) in the six-inning semifinal.
Class 4A Richards Regional
Stagg 7, Lincoln-Way Central 5: Stagg (15-18) advanced to the championship against top-ranked Richards.
Girls Soccer
Class 3A Naperville North Sectional
Lockport 1, Metea Valley 0: Ally Brehm’s goal put Lockport (18-7) in the championship.
