Brett Lilek, of Marian Catholic, is this week’s Beggars Pizza/SouthtownStar Baseball Player of the Week.
The left-handed pitcher allowed three hits and struck out 15 to lead Marian Catholic to an 11-2 win over Lincoln-Way West in the sectional final. Both runs allowed by Lilek, an Arizona State recruit, were unearned.
