Oswego East made Oak Lawn its second victim of the young campaign, scoring a 31-6 win at home on Friday night.
Parlaying a combination of big plays, the consistency of running back Branden Lowe and a stubborn defense, the Wolves led 31-0 and had the game in hand after three quarters.
Oswego East struck on the fifth play of the game as Scooter Smith gathered a Sean Kennedy pass and motored down the left sideline for a 54-yard touchdown.
On the Wolves’ second possession, Kennedy found Chase Skenandore in the right corner of the end zone for a 13-0 lead.
Lowe, the Wolves’ fireplug halfback, scampered for a 6-yard score early in the second quarter. Lowe finished the game with 115 yards on 16 carries.
Oak Lawn got on the board at the 8:31 mark of the fourth quarter when quarterback Bob Oleson scored from the 1-yard line to finish a short drive after the Spartans recovered an Oswego fumble.
