Rich East 8, Rich Central 0: Kenneth Naylor’s 2-yard touchdown run propelled visiting Rich East (3-2) in the Southland opener for both teams. Rich Central slipped to 2-3.
Reavis 40, Hillcrest 12: Jesus Romero passed for three touchdowns and ran for two more (1, 11 yards) to spark host Reavis (4-1) in the South Suburban crossover. Two of the scoring tosses went to Tyler Wetzel (23, 16 yards), who also reached the end zone on a 44-yard interception return. Hillcrest fell to 0-5.
Chicago Christian 21, Guerin 0: Visiting Chicago Christian (2-3, 1-2) prevailed in the Suburban Christian Gold.
Ag. Science 47, Crane 20: Ag. Science (3-2, 2-1) won the Public League Inter-City 4 contest at Gately Stadium.
Boys Soccer
Marist 8, Notre Dame 0: Charlie Earner scored twice for host Marist (10-4-2, 2-1-1) in the East Suburban Catholic.
Homewood-Flossmoor 1, Bradley 1: Jonathan Brandt’s goal with 45 seconds remaining enabled host Homewood-Flossmoor (2-6-3) to gain a draw in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.
Lincoln-Way Central 4, Bolingbrook 2: C.J. Zuraitis contributed three goals and an assist for visiting Lincoln-Way Central (7-5) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.
Lincoln-Way West 0, Lockport 0: Mason McGowan and Tony Prospero combined to make six saves for visiting Lincoln-Way West (6-5-3) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.
Providence 2, Illiana Christian 2: Matt Kimmel scored midway through the second half to help visiting Illiana Christian (3-11-2) earn a tie. Cody Koehler had the other goal for the Vikings. Ben Salvador netted both goals for Providence (7-6-3).
Bloom 2, Argo 1: Juan Elizalde and Cesar Flores scored for host Bloom (11-3). Jorge Garcia assisted on both goals. Argo slipped to 9-4-1.
Lincoln-Way East 1, Lincoln-Way North 0: Tyler Anderson scored off an assist from Austin Jenig in pacing host Lincoln-Way East (7-2-4) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.
Girls Volleyball
Manteno Tournament: Illiana Christian (10-12) lost to Coal City 21-25, 25-15, 16-14 in the third-place match. Tina Massey had 31 kills and 24 digs for the Vikings, who went 3-2 in the invitational. Rachel Herrera tacked on 47 digs for Illiana.
Waubonsie Valley Tournament: Lincoln-Way North (12-9) defeated Rockford Guilford 25-13, 25-21 and Oswego 25-8, 25-17 en route to a 10th place finish. Shannon Murphy totaled 88 assists on the day for the Phoenix, while Ashley Pickert added 36 kills.
Morgan Park Academy 25-25, Francis Parker 7-8: Katelyn Healy recorded 15 service points for host Morgan Park Academy (6-2, 3-0) in the Independent School League.
Girls Tennis
Lemont Invitational: Lisa Gawron (No. 1) and Carli Serpe (No. 2) were runner-up in singles as Lemont (28) edged Nazareth (26) for top honors in the eight-team meet. The Indians also were second in both doubles divisions.
Reavis quadrangular: Denna Zayed and Paula Juchas won the title at No. 2 doubles in helping Reavis (163) top Marist (162) for the team crown. Caitlyn Schaffer, of Marist, secured first place at top-seeded singles. Walther Lutheran (92) and Queen of Peace (49) also participated.
Hillcrest 5, Thornwood co-op 0: Fabie Ezife (No. 1) and Kayla Patrick (No. 2) posted singles wins for host Hillcrest.
Boys Cross Country
Bartlett Invitational: Lincoln-Way Central totaled 101 points in finishing second behind Jacobs (45) in the 13-team meet. The Knights were led by Chris Kaminski, who finished fourth after completing the 3-mile race in 15 minutes, 51.7 seconds. Kaminski’s teammate, Dru Rozewicki (15:56.1), came in sixth.
Palatine Invitational: Beecher’s Grant Nykaza (14:36.4) was the medalist, finishing just ahead of runner-up Jack Keelan (14:37) of St. Ignatius.
Girls Swimming
West Chicago Invitational: Times were not provided for the meet won by Lincoln-Way North (291.5). Event winners for the Phoenix included Morgan Parkinson in the 200-yard freestyle, Cheyenne DeGraff in the 200 individual medley and Cassidy DeGraff in the 500 free.
