Senior Tom Thanasouras, a returning state qualifier with Sandburg golf, finished second in the 22-team T.F. South Invitational at Balmoral Woods with a 2-over-par 74.

You can golf with anyone. Who’s in your foursome?

Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan and Arnold Palmer. Palmer was my favorite golfer for a long time, Tiger is my favorite golfer now and Jordan because it’s Jordan.

Facebook or fantasy football?

Fantasy football. I didn’t get into a league this year but I have in the past and really like to draft and create my own team. I’m actually more into fantasy basketball.

Do you watch a lot of sports?

All the time. I wake up and watch reruns of SportsCenter. I’m really into basketball; I’m a big fan of the NCAA Tournament and NBA.

What was it like playing at the state tournament last year?

It was awesome. I was so glad (teammate) Luke Olstrom qualified with me. It was a lot of fun to be down there with him and our coaches.

What’s one thing you’ll remember about coach Jeff Kwilose after you graduate?

He always picks me up or encourages me when I’m down. He’s just a really good guy.

What’s in your iPod?

I listen to a lot of rap and R&B. I like Big Sean, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Jay-Z.

How do you like the team’s chances at conference and regionals this year?

We’re solid one through six. We won our first tournament (22 teams at Balmoral) right off the bat, but we stalled a little bit. I think we’re putting things together right now.

Dream prom date?

Megan Fox. She’s really attractive.

What’s the best thing to eat in the Sandburg cafeteria?

The chicken wraps. I get it once or twice a week.

As told to Logan Malloy
