Jesse Gonzales logs time on both sides of the ball as center/defensive end for the Cardinals at Eisenhower.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound senior, in his third year on the varsity, has received interest from Ferris State and Western Illinois, among others.

State title game. You’re in it. What team would you most want to beat for the championship? Why?

St. Rita. They have a great tradition and to be the best you have to beat one of the best.

If you could have your pick, what celebrity would you choose as your prom date?

Kim Kardashian.

If you could choose to play football at any college, which would it be?

University of Miami. I love the weather and the special education program they have, which I plan on majoring in (teacher), is excellent. I also love how they enter the field with the smoke machine.

You’re stranded on a deserted island. You can have an endless supply of one food. What would it be?

My grandma Gonzales’ homemade enchiladas.

Given the chance, what person, dead or alive, would you most like to meet? Why?

(NFL great) Reggie White. I love his technique and physicality.

Ten years from now, when you’re talking about coach Travis Moore, what’s the first thing that will come to mind?

How he’s a great coach. He’s so enthusiastic, funny and understanding and tries hard to get his players into college. He’s like a father figure.

What’s in your iPod?

A lot of rap. Chance The Rapper, Juicy J, Three 6 Mafia, Biggie Smalls.

Finish this sentence: High school students are clueless about?

How important it is to keep their grades up.

As told to Pat Disabato
