High School Sports Roundup for Oct. 8, 2012

Class 3A New Trier Sectional: Homewood-Flossmoor teammates Jack Mulligan and Alex Cueller (80 each) advanced to the state tournament on an individual basis along with Sandburg’s Tom Thanasouras (81). Glenbrook North (302) won the team title at Winnekta Golf Club, edging New Trier (306) and Loyola (308). Sandburg (331) and H-F (337) failed to qualify for the state meet after finishing fourth and sixth, respectively.
Class 1A Westminster Christian Sectional: Beecher’s Michael Barber (83) and Zach Aring (88) qualified for the state tournament as individuals. As a team, the Bobcats (366) finished seventh at The Golf Club of Illinois in Algonquin. North Shore Country Day (313) won the team title behind medalist Andrew Bedford (75).
