Chad Weaver, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound receiver/running back with Providence football, has been injured the past few weeks and hopes to return Saturday for the Celtics’ Class 7A match-up against Lincoln-Way East.
He finished third in the state in Class 2A in the pole vault in the spring.
What attracted you to pole vaulting?
I would see videos and I always wanted to try it. I love it. I didn’t know I had that much potential.
If you were ruler of the sports world for a day, what would you change?
I would allow receivers in the NFL to run and get a head start before the play starts, like they do in the Arena League.
Ten years from now, when you’re talking about coach Mark Coglianese, what’s the first thing that will come to mind?
How he inspired me to never give up.
State title game. You’re in it. What team would you like to play in the championship? Why?
Joliet Catholic. Because of (wingback) Ty Isaac and everything, it would be awesome.
What’s in your iPod?
Rev Theory, Disturbed.
If you could have your pick, what celebrity would you choose as your prom date?
Hollywood is making a movie based on your life. What actor would you choose to play you? Why?
Channing Tatum. He’s a good actor, and gets all the ladies.
You’re stranded on a deserted island. You can have an endless supply of one food. What would it be?
A pizza from Italian Fiesta Pizza in Frankfort.
Given the chance, what person, dead or alive, would you most like to meet? Why?
Tom Cruise. I love all of his movies.
