Boys Bowling

Vernon Hills Invitational: Andrew (6,099) topped the 24-team field in winning the championship for the second year in a row. Brother Rice (5,760) was fourth at Brunswick Zone-Hawthorn in Vernon Hills. Kyle Krol (1,354) led Andrew with a third-place finish over six games. Mike Dertz (1,258) aided the cause for the Thunderbolts by coming in eighth. Brother Rice was paced by Chris Roti (1,213), who was 13th.

Girls Bowling

Rich East Invitational: T.F. South (5,229) won the team title at Lakewood Bowl. Reavis (4,898), Rich South (4,852), Lincoln-Way Central (4,682) and Lincoln-Way East (4,676) rounded out the top five in the 15-team event. Reavis’ Ashley Kouba (1,260) was the medalist, besting T.F. South teammates Shannon Pollard (1,188) and Kayla Garcia (1,134). The next two spots were occupied by Lincoln-Way Central’s Heather Krohn (1,120) and Rich South’s Salest Stewart (1,100).

Fremd Invitational: Evergreen Park’s Sarah Klawitter (596) was fourth at Arlington Lanes in Arlington Heights. Her performance helped the Mustangs (3,962) finished 10th out of 20 teams.

Boys Basketball

Bremen 66, Longwood 40: Devonta Wilson finished with 17 points to lift host Bremen (3-2).

Springfield Shootout

No. 9 Crete-Monee 56, Jacksonville 49: Marvie Keith scored 17 points to pace Crete-Monee (5-0). Mark Conner and Rashad Lee tacked on 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Warriors.

Chicago Elite Classic

De La Salle 70, Phillips 59: Alvin Ellis netted 21 points to lead De La Salle (4-0) at the UIC Pavilion.

Girls Basketball

Wilmington 49, Beecher 43: Danielle Snuckel (15 points) and Ashley Carroll (14 points, 6 rebounds) paced visiting Beecher (1-8).

Queen of Peace 47, Regina 41: Hannah Lipman scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for host Queen of Peace (4-4) in the GCAC crossover. Courtnee Williams added 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Pride.

Argo 60, Ridgewood 39: Sabrina Williams contributed 10 points for host Argo (1-4).

Maine West Tournament

Mother McAuley 54, Hersey 47: Lauren Carlson poured in 18 points and Elizabeth Nye tacked on 14 for Mother McAuley (5-2).

Wrestling

Loyola triangular: Joe Young (182 pounds) posted two pins in leading T.F. South past Glenbrook North 54-15 and Loyola 36-9. Jake (120) and Blake Tisza (145) each added victories by fall and decision for the Rebels.

Bloomington triangular: Joe Fulco (126) won twice in helping Providence defeat Bloomington 37-31 and Morton (Ill.) 63-10.

West Aurora mega duals: Austin Strzelczyk (126) and Dan Radcliffe (132) prevailed three times apiece in guiding Lockport over Neuqua Valley 49-21 and West Aurora 41-15. The Porters lost to Hononegah 28-23.

Fenton Invitational: Lincoln-Way West (239) won the 12-team tournament thanks to championships from Kyle Rodriguez (138), LaVonte Blackful (145), Josh Ruettiger (152) and Cody Pedigo (160). LaQuez Rucker won the crown at 170 pounds in helping Richards (60) finish eighth. Eisenhower (42) was ninth, the Cardinals producing the titlist at 220 pounds in Alec Gordon.

Hinsdale South Invitational: First-place St. Rita (287.50) and runner-up Homewood-Flossmoor (208.50) each had four weight class winners in the 12-team meet. Colton Kielbasa (120), Victor Keane (132), Mike O’Connor (138) and Jack Sears (182) brought home crowns for St. Rita. H-F’s winners were Mike Burke (106), Connor Bandy (152), Isaiah Smith (220) and Devion May (heavyweight).

Men’s Basketball

St. Xavier 85, Judson 51: Jack Krieger scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds for host St. Xavier (5-3, 5-2) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Brad Karp and Dominique Harvey chipped in 17 points apiece for the Cougars.

Women’s Basketball

St. Xavier 57, Judson 38: Morgan Stuut recorded 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead host St. Xavier (6-1, 6-1) in the CCAC.
