Boys Basketball
Seton 64, Leo 57: Kamal Shasi totaled 16 points, 10 rebounds and four assists to lift visiting Seton (8-5, 4-1) in the Catholic League South. Mark Weems led the Sting with 19 points, while Armahn Mooring chipped in 16.
Ridgewood 63, Illiana Christian 59: Brandon Martin’s 22 points guided host Illiana Christian (9-6, 3-2) in the Metro Suburban.
Ag. Science Tournament
Ag. Science 61, Kelly 42: Ryan Kull and Chris Soczek scored 14 points apiece to lead Ag. Science (6-4) in the first-round game.
DeKalb Tournament
Moline 62, Thornridge 52: Jordan Cottrell had 19 points for Thornridge (1-9) in the opening round.
Tarkanian Classic
Bishop Gorman (Nev.) 83, No. 1 Morgan Park 80 (OT): Kyle Davis and Billy Garrett scored 21 points apiece for Morgan Park (8-1) in the Platinum Division semifinal in Las Vegas. Josh Cunningham added 12 points for the Mustangs, who were outscored 14-11 in the extra session.
No. 1 Morgan Park 76, Sheldon (Calif.) 57: Davis had 20 points, five rebounds and five assists to lead Morgan Park in the Platinum quarterfinal. Garrett tacked on 14 points and seven assists for the Mustangs.
Girls Basketball
No. 3 Morgan Park 71, Harlan 52: Bhrea Griffin’s 15 points boosted host Morgan Park (8-1, 5-0) in the Public League Red-South.
Lincoln-Way West 64, Thornton 52: Danielle Morgan netted 19 points and Britt Michalski 17 to guide visiting Lincoln-Way West (5-5, 3-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.
Wheaton Academy 55, Chicago Christian 39: Emma Baldacci supplied a team-high nine points for host Chicago Christian (4-9, 1-4) in the Suburban Christian Gold.
Wrestling
Reavis triangular: Alan Durham (120 pounds) won twice in helping Oak Forest defeat Reavis 60-15 and Evergreen Park 67-10 in the South Suburban meet. Matt Gonzalez (132), Sam Almousa (138) and Jordan Cordova (145) posted two victories apiece for Reavis, which beat Evergreen Park 37-9 in the remaining dual.
Lincoln-Way East 32, Homewood-Flossmoor 28: Brenden Gaynor (126), Kyle Langenderfer (152) and Nick Allegretti (heavyweight) notched pins for visiting Lincoln-Way East (9-5, 4-1) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Sean Sibley (106) and Jake Johnston (138) won via major decision for the Griffins.
Men’s Basketball
St. Xavier Tournament
St. Xavier 80, St. Ambrose (Iowa) 54: Jack Krieger was 6-of-6 from the field and finished with 18 points to spark St. Xavier (10-3) in the second round. Brad Karp led the Cougars with 24 points and Roosevelt Green added 12 points with eight assists.
